Confused About Lawrence

So, playing through the game I am kind of confused about one specific character, Lawrence.
Don't read the spoiler unless you've played, it does kinda spoil some plot stuff for both this game and Black Butterfly!


I can't remember fully but it seems to be implied or outright stated that Lawrence may be connected to the previous game, Black Butterfly. Is this true? I have a feeling (btw I haven't played Black Butterfly so I am going off vibes and appearance) he may be Kagiha due to some stuff he's talked about. If I'm completely off the mark well ♥♥♥♥ lol

It's been a while since I've played both games, but from what I can remember,
Kagiha from Black Butterfly is reincarnated as Lawrence
