Trouble with control keys
I'm replaying after a while and I'm right at the prologue, but I can't get past it because my E key to pick up the bowl on the table won't work. My tab key to open the tasks page also won't exit after I open it. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hey there, sorry to hear the old bowl was evading your grasp. Can confirm it's being rather odd right now. If you spam the E key it works after maybe the 8th press but well look to patch it up soon.

As for the Tab key I'm afraid we can't quuiiiiite replicate that one however we'll include it in a review for patching. Thanks for raising these queries here Hella, it really helps us out.

Just launched the game and it's the same mess with controls. In the Options, all controls were erased. After re-mapping them, I got the same probleme with the bowl, tab can't close and Esc don't bring an Exit menu or anything, it feels quite broken... Too bad ! I was quite impatient to play it in French now that it's translated but the controls are a real nightmare...

I've been having this same issue. Been looking out to see if there's any news on a fix, but I'm kind of disappointed there hasn't been in the many months this has been known. :/

I supported this game on Kickstarter and have enjoyed the artwork and story so far, but I can't help but feel disappointment. Such a major issue blocking progression means I can't finish the game even if I want to.

I feel bad for people who haven’t played it already having this inconvenience too, I do really like the game despite its flaws and I hope they fix this at some point.

Having this issue too however played the prologue and it was fine now this version cant get past anything

Expirencing this and more. My game has been completely unplayable for some time now because none of the commands work for me at this point

hello i just bought the game after the demo that i tried, btw the demo works perfectly fine, but after you BOUGHT the game, it doesnt work. the same mess explained before it still here and im very pissed. what a ♥♥♥♥♥ mess

Hello I have this same error my interact button is a mess i cant pick a bowl and i even spam it it sticks my cursor on the bowl and wont come off, and when i press tab my game stop work if i press my tab again it won't let me out in objectives pls fix the game pls

Hello, when i mailed Raw Fury this is what they told me. Maybe they will work for you too:
- Open the game. In the start screen menu choose “Settings”, then go to “Controls” and choose the “Return to default” option.
- Try verifying game files integrity using the Steam client option, or uninstall the game using you Steam client, reboot your computer and install the game once more.
- Make sure your computer drivers as well as your operating system have been updated to the latest version. Restart your computer after any updates.
- Make sure no additional applications are open in the background before launching the game.
- Turn off and unplug from your computer any additional devices such a controller, a steering wheel, etc. If you have multiple screens connected to your computer, temporarily unplug additional monitors and check if it makes a difference.
- Right-click on the game's title (the full game, not the demo version) in the Steam library and choose "Properties" in the pop-up menu. Go to the "General" tab in the new window and make sure the Steam Cloud option is disabled (the box must be unchecked). Go to C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Detective\Saved\ and remove all content from this location (if you don’t want to remove it entirely, just move it to some other location such as your desktop, just make sure the “Detective” folder is currently empty).
