Unable to join room HELP ME

My friend and I cant join eachothers rooms even though we are on the same region, any help plz

my friend got this just now - we were playing just fine but had to restart a mission and he can't join or invite me anymore

We swapped regions a few times also restarting the game each time until we managed to connect to eachothers game. Dumb and weird.

How do I change regions?

@Red Dead Radical - you can change your region by going to Settings - Gameplay and scrolling down. There is a drop-down menu right below the Subtitles checkbox. You can also scroll that drop-down menu with your mouse wheel for more options.

Thanks for this, though we are almost done with the game. My friend and I are in the U.S. and could always connect to each other the first time. But often not the next several times, even if we restarted the game (and even Steam). Just says connecting or whatever from the room page but never actually connects.

Same problem here. If we exit and reload the game a few times or change who's creating the room it works but it's really tedious. Please fix.

I had the same problem, figured out if you and your friend aren't in the same region, it wont allow you to join them, i dont hink it has anything to do with restarting, didnt work for me, but it randomly puts you in different regions sometimes, both players should check!

Yeah, you can't be with your friend if you are from different regions. To fix it, just check your Settings, Gameplay and then in the Region you have to be the same than your friend.

The reason why your friend and you are not in the same region is quite simple - regions are determined by the lowest ping taken on the servers. Even if you are 10 miles far from your friend and he has a lowest ping from Russia than Europe while he is living in Europe, it's default server location in parameters will be Russia because of the lowest ping.

Moderators said that it will be fixed in a new update - they are currently working on it, so don't worry about it. I mean, that's not the biggest issue we've ever hear about - the only thing needed would be an error notification message explaining you can't join your friend because of region servers, and then everything would be perfect for everyone. Yeah it's probably weird, no it was not dumb - just think about creators which didn't know that problem would trigger that many people.

Me and my friend ran into a similar issue, when we left and attempted to join another lobby it would say "Connecting to game" forever without connecting. We found if we both restarted the game it would help in most cases. Sometimes it took a few restarts.

ok this happened again.. both times we've had to restart a mission and then can't join each other anymore and my friend can't make a lobby.
