Grandfather clock puzzle
My friend and I had to look up the solution to this. We're past it now, but this aggravated us to no end. How are you SUPPOSED to solve this puzzle?

*You can't leave your walkie talkie open to let the other person hear your clock.
*Trying to describe the sound is impossible with no base sound/pitch to compare to.
*And (in our situation), my friend admitted he was tone deaf, so even if I could match the pitches perfectly by mouth, he couldn't tell me if it was too high or too low.

So, to reiterate, how are you SUPPOSED to solve this puzzle?

*IF* I remember correctly, the sound of the clock is determined by the position of the weights inside it, behind the pendulum. You can use those instead of the pitch. I'm pretty sure we discovered a way to do it without sound in our second playthrough, and I think that was it.

Oh, snap. The hanging weights? I saw those and when I couldn't open the door of the clock and mess with them, I put them out of mind. I didn't bother looking at them after flipping the switches in the side of the clock.

Will have to remember this for our next playthrough (we gotta reverse roles, of course).

Thanks for the response!
