Map is strongly needed
I think the gamer deserves caring. There are a few features that are not deal breaker but certainly the absence of a map is not one of them.

The inability to trace back clearly without a general map is horrendous, makes the sessions unnecessarily slow and long, a speed run is not possible and overall the experience becomes very tedious just guessing where to go next and have luck you get to the portal.

I hope they enable one at some point before I lose my interest in the game...

agreed, there is no worse sentiment where you dont know where you are supposed to go, or at least hinted at

The devs could take some notes from Sundered. That game also had randomized runs and maps, but they did have a minimap.

I honestly think a lack of a map adds to the immersion.

i don't think so. Immersion of losing time more likely.
Just take example of many dungeon crawlers as map is generated as you clear rooms, this is the minimum to be accepted.

Anyway, I lost my interest on the game, too much backtracking and zero updates

Yeah devs abandoned this or declared it "content complete" waaaaay before I thought they would and I felt "Oh I got fooled again," but happens with about half my Steam purchases. :p I too got lost in this game constantly.

For the pricepoint the game has enough content in my mind. 10-20 hours of gameplay for 10 bucks seems much more fair than a few other indie games in a similar price range with 90 minutes of content.

I am a terrible gamer and while a map might help me in some ways I can say I got used to not having one. Yes I felt lost at times but it was in a good way. It adds immersion like someone else said in a post.
