I think it's Unity.

It's Unity with custom physics and heavily modified rendering.

itd have to be heavily modified because it doesnt run like ass, AND runs well on switch which is crazy. I can get slime rancher on xbox one to get sub 10fps, layers of fear also runs terribly. In fact nearly every console unity game ive ever seen including yooka laylee has ran terrible EXCEPT cup head.

To see a unity game run well at all, let alone on pc and switch at the same time is mind boggling to me. Though to be fair most unity games run well on pc past a certain amount of hardware thrown at it.

But this game can also run on intergrated graphics in some cases judging from the minimum requirements so thats pretty cool Unity and even Unreal 4 are not kind to low end hardware and takes lots of time and skill from what i can gather to run well.

Yup....these guys apparently know how to utilize the Unity engine well. My system often gets iffy framerates in Unity titles, and this one is zipping along nicely at a very smooth 60 FPS. Granted, I've only spent a few minutes with it...but the first impressions are that it performs very well.

And as for the gameplay, I bought it just about the instant I realized that this was by some of the same folks responsible for Marble Blast Ultra.

wasn't MB in havoc? Why is the same bug in this game if its unity then lol, is it on purpose? The bug where you can go through walls at a slope corner.

That is because they use Unity as an actual engine. And not RAD software.

Yeah, Unity is actually a pretty good engine when in the hands of people that know how to develop with it.

Sometimes runs like ♥♥♥♥ for me. I get occasional stuttering, which is clearly the engine given my frame rate remains steady as a rock throughout. The music track changing also causes annoying hitches that have resulted in me failing record attempts on more than one occasion.

i5 4690K @ 4.3GHz and GTX 1080Ti if anybody is wondering.

@Middy - have a solution for the music swap stutter coming into the beta sometime today :)

I believe it was in Torque, their own self-made engine.

MIU! uses a custom physics engine specifically written for marble rolling physics (PhysX doesn't handle spherical friction accurately enough to do what we want), and Ben Garney (who wrote the original MBG physics code) also wrote the MIU! physics code, so... probably the same bugs :P
