Planetary Classifications List
Is there a list somewhere that tells what the different classifications mean?

you mean the "Class K or M" for example?

The single letters were first introduced in... think in Star Trek, they were based upon real planet classification.
Pretty sure those letters aren't used with NASA and stuff like that, but it should be the letters you were looking for.

Class D (planetoid or moon with little to no atmosphere)
Class H (generally uninhabitable)
Class J (gas giant)
Class K (habitable, as long as pressure domes are used)
Class L (marginally habitable, with vegetation but no animal life)
Class M (terrestrial)
Class N (sulfuric)
Class R (a rogue planet, not as habitable as a terrestrial planet)
Class T (gas giant)
Class Y (toxic atmosphere, high temperatures)

Edit: the Information was wrong, the game sadly do not use the star trek list

Huh? Pretty sure terrestrial planets are class A in game.

jep, I played too and did recognize a different system, only the devs can give us the needed Information.

I thought starcom was inspired by some other game, so the Types propably come from there, or were "defined" by the devs. The latter propably means, they had made a basic idea for each letter and created the planets that way
