So they want me to go into Araona space to find and destroy it, but i have been flying around the coordinates in deep space and cant find anything nor in the closest system. How wide of an area is "Near" in this game?

it is on the edge of one of their systems, not far in deep space. But it isn't in one of the near systems, it is a bit deeper into their space

Yeah, took me a while to find too. I explored in the opposite direction because it seemed illogical that it'd drift right through Araona space without having gotten discovered by them. I like the storytelling about the Saurids here though.
