The patch automatically installs if you have the GOG Galaxy client. The offline installer doesn't appear to have been updated and may require a manual update by GOG. I've let them know about the issue.
After talking to the Saurid about the Chitik forward base, and destroying that base,
when I return to talk to the Saurid, I hail them, and get the reward. After that, every time I hail them I get the same response and reward over and over again.
It is an infinite exploit, and although endless resources is fun to have, I still feel obliged to report it.
This might be another manifestation of the bug that affects GOG in offline mode. I've submitted a patch but apparently the offline installer requires human intervention on GOG's side.
Thanks for your report, let me know if you encounter any other issues.
One of them is the "Saurid Science Station". I found and destroyed the station, but the quest remains active and talking to the Suarids doesn't advance the plot.
Maybe the bugs are related to awarding GOG achievements??? I noticed that when I updated the game with the GOG Galaxy version, I was awarded the "Hole in our universe" GOG achievement and the plot advanced. All was good. However, now I'm stuck again and right now, GOG says I also earned 3 other achievements, but the are all described "Secret Achievement: Continue playing to unlock this achievement"
