Weekly Update #27
On Monday I put Beta 0.11.0 on an opt-in branch on Steam. This one is a bit rougher around the edges with several known issue reported already:

- Exotic purchases at the Citadel always buy the first selection regardless of choice
- At least one of the new “hidden” anomalies has an incorrect clue
- Planets sometimes incorrectly showing “?” icon after survey
- See this post for instructions on accessing: http://www.starcomnexus.com/early-access-updates-and-save-games/

Changes to 0.11 since 0.10:

- New sectors (total of 89) and anomalies
- New technologies
- New discoveries
- New missions/mechanics
- New race
- Difficulty settings (very experimental)
- Improved Shipyard controller support
- New “Havok” point defense system
- Hovering ship status bars gives number values
- Changed armor defense formula
- Change to beam weapon behaviour
- New capital ship death effects
- Player notes on map
- Mission log search function
- Updates to localization
- Various balance changes
- Misc. bug fixes

Given the known bugs, I’m going to leave this as an “opt-in” Beta while I continue to work on the next milestone.

Since Monday, I’ve started work on the next update:

- A new trade system.
- New mission highlighting system. Important, uncompleted objectives will flash in the mission log.
- Various internal code cleanup.

As always, you can post feedback here in the community forum or via F8 in game. If you have questions or just want to talk about the game, the Discord invite is here: https://discord.gg/uddMTC5

All for now, until next week!

Is the current beta changed (as of last monday) at all? If it has changed, would a new playthrough be needed to view the changes?

No, this is the same version as Monday, this is just a more public announcement of the update.

Hmmm... according to my map, I'm missing quite a few star systems. I took the time to count them, and I've explored 79 star systems... so I'm missing 10 star systems somewhere... Where could they be? (Any hints)

The star system count might be approximate. Or rather, it's accurate but it may count things that you don't recognize as star systems but are stored in game as star systems. Like the Nest Whirlpool has no star but is counted because it's a sector with stuff in it. Then there's I think 2 sectors in the alpha "pre-rift" universe (it doesn't count all the stars). Then there's the rift sector itself. So you're probably missing about 5 sectors.

Have you visited the Araona Nest area and the Phage sectors?

Places I've visited are:

Araona Nest (including the whirlpool hidden warp lane)
Phage Systems (including one with two mass drivers)
Nyctian System
Lost Planet System
All of Zoar Systems (including the one to the southwest of Zoar by 1 sector)
All of Museum Systems
All of Titanium Accelerator Systems (including the two systems attached to eachother when taking the accelerator for a ride)
All of Sentinel Systems (including both nebula stars and the tree system)
All of Provisional Araona Systems
The Cave System
All the main systems (that can easily be accessed via warp lanes or takes 1-2 sectors of travel to reach)

I've also did huge trips across the void connecting various systems to eachother and never detected a planet or star system anywhere near them. I also went to some of the old coordinates of the Lost Planet (ie 44 x 44) and nothing.

I've tried using the search function in mission log to look for "bird, geese, goose, chase, hidden, etc" and nothing. I tried searching for space coordinates and didn't come up with anything.

I have no idea what I might be missing or how to acquire it. I've done all the surveying I could do and returned to planets that I was told to do (ie the golden boot). I even solved all of the puzzles with incorrect clues.

So could I get a hint on where it might be... because it is starting to drive me crazy (or better yet just give me the coordinates; I do have the achievement already, but would like to confirm it's existence).

It's somewhere around 20x10

I can confirm it is there.

Had to get within about 0.75 of a sector of it's location before the planet appeared. I did pass by the location several times on my long voyages through space, but I had to get pretty close to it for it to appear.

I checked the coordinates of the planet with the mission log. I could not find any reference to the planet at all.

If you hadn't told me of it's existence, I never would have found it. Even with maxxed out sensor research, I still had to get within a very short distance for it to appear.

What is really curious is that the planet was a classification of G2, which is normally inhospitable to life, and yet I found the geese there.

...

Any other hidden locations that you want me to confirm are there (and then see if I have mission logs to support it?

Or perhaps you could refer me to the mission log, that would have normally revealed the location of the planet and I'll see if I have it?

NOTE: I do know that a wild goose chase, is very much like a red herring or a snipe hunt, but if I knew what log was supposed to be the clue, I might be able to tell you if the thing is solvable.
