Wow, I am having so much fun.
For such a small little game. I am having a total blast. So far there is nothing I would change about this game.

What I would love to see is an rpg style system for your captain, ship officers and crew similar to an xcom in the future. With skills, classes, etc.

Having random crewman die during a battle or because you pulled an Icarus and flew to close to the sun has no gravity to it. But have ensign Red Shirt die, who has been with you since the very beginning and it will give you a real feeling of loss.

So love the game, love it. Would love to see something to make it feel more personal. Would love to see something besides the tech tree as a goal. Gaining knowledge to make a better ship is awesome and fun. Gaining experience to have a better crew is also a fun challenge too.

Great work. I will be putting serious hours into this fun game.

Going back to having a crew and a pseudo role playing experience. As for Captain, bridge officers, chief engineer and medical officers. I would say start very low entropy. Meaning any or all of their skills should be miniscule per each upgrade.

Good example: Tactical Officer could give you a +1 range or +1 damage with each level of proficiency meaning at max level say 5 total levels. You could have either +5 range or +5 damage or combination of +3 damage and +2 range. Etc. Not mind blowing. But if you lose that bridge crew member, you feel it when they die.

So science officer could garner you more research points by a small percentage per level. Say 5% per level and a max gain of +25% at level 5 or rank 5.

A captain, could choose 1 main career path (pick a crew slot) and could max to level 5 in that area but they do not stack with crew. Plus pick two other areas where they could max one to level 3 and one to level 2 and those would stack. So not game breaking, but if you lost a crew member or even your captain. Then you could promote next highest and keep going. Instead of game over.

I would just love to see some more depth to this game. Some random generation for which planet is in which system instead of a static map. A chance that each time you enter a system a new random anomaly could pop up in the system or on any of the planets. This once again keeps the game fresh and makes you want to patrol your already visited systems.

Now does the new crew need a payment system as well as a recruitment system? So to pry away people from the space station, what will that cost? Will it be prestige or a type of currency? Does the space station have unlimited crew or is there a cap? Can you recruit from the aliens you meet if you build up a good enough reputation with them? Would you recruit them, can you trust them.

This game has so much potential. I really like it, but as with most things I like, I want more.

Good Luck,

Chris
