Stuck at endgame; where is each message fragment?
I have spoken to Eos, researched the comm tech, spoken to the hermit, and I have no active quests remaining. I have 3/4 message fragments and 11/8 keys. I cannot find a single thing on the map that I have not already investigated, even when manually canvassing the galaxy.

I won't ask for the "last" fragment, because I get the strong impression that that was *supposed* to be given by the hermit. For the love of god, where the hell is *each* message fragment?

I scoured the internet and could not find this listed anywhere; if I had a list of where to get each one, I could just check and see if I've done those things.

I've been loving the game, but this aspect of it has been an extreme frustration.

EDIT: I circumvented the problem by just editing the my latest quicksave at:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Wx3 Labs, LLC\Starcom Nexus\saves

"name": "MESSAGE_FRAGMENTS",
"integer": 3

Changing the 3 to a 4 allowed me to progress to the quick final mission.

From what I remember, I believe you have to track down one of the water aliens (ul-something) after leaving Eos. They point you to the orc-ish aliens, and they will mention an outcast with the rest of the message. Then you talk to the hermit.

I did all of those steps and got the message fragment from the Hermit, but I was still missing a piece after that. I completed all active quests and there were no remaining (?) planets on my map.

Hmm... Mine was at "three message fragments" for some time. Then I finally figured out to talk to the water species again and then talked with the Gortanu and then I was finally able to talk to the hermit. However I am still stuck at 3 message fragments and I don't have any further leads. I have heard rumor there may be a bug related to this?

UPDATE: Ah. Its some kind of a minor bug. When I shut the game down, and then loaded it back up the mission log updated to show the complete message and I was able to continue the story.

I'm also stuck in the game after speaking with Eos. I'm just drifting around aimless in a huge galaxy :( The mission log really should be much more spesific and give more clues about what to do. Markers on the map would be nice. I just don't feel like playing this game anymore.

If it's just after Eos and you declined his offer, there should be an all out war going on. Kill some of the enemy, and you should see some progress. If you took his offer, you probably have nothing but aimless wandering ahead of you. :)

Thanks, but I did decline his offer and has killed some enemies both inside and outside the dome. Hermit won't tell me anythinig new. I see in a message above that I should speak with the water aliens, but don't even remember where they are in the huge system. I've spent way too much time travelling.

They're all over the place, but you can almost always find one at the Citadel. It doesn't sound like you're at the part where you should be looking for them, though. Enemies should be dropping parts that you can collect which will lead to new research.

Ok, I'll see if I can give it one more go. Thanks for trying to help :cozybethesda:

Found the 4th fragment at the Gamma Dwarf at the bottom of the map. The 3rd fragment refers to a star with no life due to spikes in the star's output.
