Araonian Provisional Capital
The only thing I've seen related to this is

a. They fled the phage
b. Commander with coordinates died to a progenator mine
b.i. Mines IIRC are only located at 1.30 -23.30 and -1.70 4.80
b.ii. progenator ships are only located at -1.70 4.80 and 40.0 -27.5

Searched the areas with mines didn't get anything, searched by the ships didn't get anything

Randomly searching the void now... can someone point me to the clue?

The only ! planet left (aside from the shop) is the flak planet, but 10+ visits later they still shoot at me, tried shields and other buffs to the research path and they don't make a difference)

I'll be honest, I actually found the Nest by 100% accident. I was exploring on my own, saw a white dwarf on the edge of my scanners. Decided I got time to kill, pointed my ship in its direction and went for it. Turned out it was the nest, though wasn't prepared to actually answer their question about the benchmarks. Since I couldn't access my logs while talking to them had to reload which sucked. Still though, went back and boom, quest done without actually meaning to.

I found it like Kytel. My problem is I didn't found any hints. While reading this Thread I almost flipped my table couse I kept checking my game and there are no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ names for the systems.
So how I find the hints?

This "puzzle" was one of the first implemented in the game. As such it hasn't gotten any real updates to making it doable without a ton of stuff out of the game proper. The "hints" are the neutronium markers you find, which mention Lirs (araona equivalent of AU distances).

As a guy who just grabbed this game, I went from "I'm a good boy who found three benches legit!" excited optimism," to "I should have just googled up every last shred of this busted quest" jaded gamer cynicism.

Every lazy smug ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the internet says 'you just have to use the OBVIOUS, IN GAME, information!' of this sort of thing needs to have their hands visit a rusty car door, yeah.

Bonus. Of the three benches I found, I still ended up doubling up on google for some direct coordinates, because my destination was waaaaaaaay down south below the three benches I found would indicate.

But okay, maybe you're supposed to graph paper your way there later with several more. Okay, sure.

But theeeen...

"Tell us the names of three benches!"
"Good thing I actually did find three benches! *Picks Golden jester off list*
"Tells us another name!"
"Sure thing... uh... huh. Silver sword and crimson priestess are not options..."

Well, that's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥. let's try clicking obviously wrong "Silver princess". Huh, the THIRD list has the two others I had found, but I can only click one.

Oh they are claiming I never went to them and are not attacking me.

I found three benches.

I wrote down their names.

I took screenshots of the text results from the anomalies just to be sure I didn't missremember.

Then the game can't even ask the questions right.

"You didn't find any benches!" right, sure.

So much for "Use the hints the game gives you!" . So I just hammered the most pretentious sounding option on the second question after a reload. Because blind guesswork is what you need to fall back on when honest investigation is broken.

Best case scenario? They intend for there to be enough correct answers to manage the "Do you know three names?" with any combination of three found... But screwed up yet another layer of QA testing, resulting in "You know three benches! Too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad two out of three you found, can only be chosen on the third question"

And you just know somebody is gonna try to shift the goalpost to "Well it doesn't matter that the questions are broken, because you should have found 4+ benches before finding it anyways! Therefore bugs don't count!"

You don't need 100% accuracy to find the warp hole, You can estimate the approximate location by noting the specifics of each marker. Draw the arcs mentally and launch from the closest point and make sure you have the extra distance scanning research option, you will find it almost straight away. I have done it three times.

i apparently missed the puzzel entirely, and have no clue to what im even looking for, would it be possible is someone narrowed this down ive gotten the id. marker points written down. id rather not have to reload a half dozen times. before the station questions me.

I feel the same. I guess it's not a main part of the game, but I don't even remember seeing anything about those markers that hinted at what I should be looking for.

Also: The temple of Typhon? I was thinking that it was due 'west' from only green star on the map, but either I missed it, or I got the clue wrong.

You'll find the hint if you search for NEST in the mission logs. There you'll find the Araona star names and also the coordinates you need in order to calculate the location. It's a bit obscure, but story wise it makes sense, because in an unknown galaxy you don't really know which abandoned tech belongs to which race.

It should be there. Scanning doesn work as good in the nebula, so you have to be closer than usual to find it (less than 1000units perhaps).

Found the markers. Found the system. Got quizzed about the names.
I'm like: uuuhhh.... why can't I access my log during questioning if this is important?
Why doesn't the game recognize that I found the markers and highlight the names my logs show are correct?

So some guesses later and they turn hostile and I am forced to kill them. And now I can't even communicate with them to get the treaty thing because of poor design.

it's not the 80'ies anymore. why force me to reload when the game should have recognized the answers were in my log already? Why have the game PREVENT me from accessing the log at the very moment I actually need it? And then this at an irriversible moment, even.

I like the game, but seriously, this is a huge flaw.

Oh, so that's how you're supposed to do it... That's funny, because I thought the "Temple" quest leads to the Nest, and used its directions! XD
When you find all the temples, it says "to the west of green-eyed serpent". So I found a system that looks like two green eyes, a nose on the bottom and something like a tail on the top...

Flew to the left from it... And found the Nest :D

As a gamer from the 80's and 90's... When I play a game like this, where there is a ship and a crew, there are a lot of things that I can have my crew do. Like track this stuff. I assumed that once I found all the right clues, one of my crew would let me know. Then, when I encounter the bird leader who asks the names, that crew would give it to me, rather than I have to search for a word that is essentially meaningless to me. I found these benchmarks likely many days or even a week or two apart from each other and didn't put them together.

I have a day job and it isn't playing games. The crew on my ship have a day job -to solve these puzzels.

This puzzle is not consistent. Depending on which system from the 2 you use to calculate lir. If you use "eastern" system to calculate lir you will be pointed to wrong place after calculations. If you use "western" system to calculate lir you will get exactly needed location. Why lir to ftl value is not the same between 2 systems i dont know.
