All Quiet in the Trenches

All Quiet in the Trenches

Injured Soldiers.
So, not sure if anyone else runs into this "problem" if that's what you'll call it... but when charging to enemy trenches regardless of it being a simple walk away or if its a full sprint to the other cover. (I usually charge when no danger or low danger is present to minimize getting hit.)

Once I make it into the target area (Like take the enemy trenches) and have to defend I usually lost someone along the way from the charge forward and if I leave to go heal them I get in trouble for abandoning my post and then some other group takes my spot and then french push forward pinning my men down who are not even on the trench line anymore because they are busy trying to get the injured back up in action.

Suggestion to this is, possibly could we have injured soldiers have like a "level severity" to their injuries and if they are not "gravely wounded" or something similar they should be able to move forward/backward and get to better cover. I've lost a few good men because I would lose the battle/game if I disobeyed the lieutenant to go retrieve my own injured men. Sorry chief I cant do what you want without manpower lol.
Maybe though they can move at a slower pace or cant go as far and maybe even could get more injured depending what you have them do.

Just a idea I thought I would throw out and see if anyone agreed or not.

Edit: I have noticed if they are "kneeling" while inured they will move to retreat but not every time and it doesn't look to be a straight shot back as they go, stop, go to the side, stop, go back, etc.

In the real war the wounded that could would crawl into the nearest shell hole for cover. There were stretcher bearer parties moved up waiting in the trenches waiting for the attack to be over. Often after a failed assault there would be an unofficial 'truce' where SB Teams (under a white flag) would be allowed to take the wounded. But it was also the case that the battle never really ceased and the wounded had to wait till darkness to make their way back.
No attacking unit is going to be tasked with retrieving wounded while the battle is in the balance.
Every German soldier had an inside pocket on the left side of their tunic with a field dressing (bandage) . The pocket was usually tacked shut with a single stitch to prevent a soldier from using the pocket for any other purpose

That would even be nice option, It would also be nice if they could even bandage themselves up.
They should add "Stretcher missions" to the Trench Phase if they ever include night time it would be a interesting way to play on team dynamics/morale and maybe even run into french wounded and medical parties as well.
