Oculus Touch controllers - how do you turn? ALSO A BUG.

In the tutorial, it says use swipe right on touch pad to move. I tried moving the Oculus right ad left joystick in all kinds of directions and pressing down also in all directions and I never turned.

Anybody figure out how to turn?

And the bug I found is that the Oculus Touch controllers lose their laser pointer in the main menu. It makes picking options in the menu difficult.
