are you supposed to 'Prestige'?
and reset the map? or are you supposed to continue forever on the map you're on?

I'm not sure. I've unlocked and built rockets, and I see the map has options for Mars and the asteroid belt, but I have no idea how to actually do anything with those.

Edit: I see a rocket pad under the special building menu, going to try that. Stalled out my economy pretty hard now that some cities are requesting millions of rocket cockpits.

guess im not seeing a huge benefit of prestige other than resetting the cluttered map. but also not prestiging doesnt seem to give a huge benefit either lol
maybe im just bad at this

Every hour you can spend a crystal (which you get every hour) to get 5% of your research. Since you get research based on your current economy-scale, it makes sense to never reset until you've finished your tech tree.

Example for me: At 5 hours in, I could have reset for 10 million research. Or spend a crystal for 500k research. 5 hours later, I can reset for 10 trillion research, or spend a crystal for 500 billion research. So by not resetting every 5 hours, instead of getting 10 million research twice, I get 500 billion research.

does anything carry over when you prestige?

are there any other games similar to this? is factorio similar? kindof loving this genre

Look for the term "Incremental Game" and "Management" games to find similar ones to this. Incremental games are ones where the numbers keep going up by orders-of-magnitude. Management games are economy-focused and usually lots of tech-trees and interconnected things.

Factorio is light on the Incremental and heavy on the Management.

Factorio is digital meth. Once you take a hit that's it, you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for life. So yes, get Factorio and inject that ♥♥♥♥ straight into your eyeballs. :D

But for reals I can’t recommend Factorio enough if you like the idea of building and figuring out optimal supple chains etc. The enemies aren’t too bad, you can fiddle with the settings in case you don’t wanna deal with them.

is factorio a bit like this? and in what ways. im poor but i can swing 30 bucks if its really that good

There's a demo for the game. It's not hex grid based like this game with each tile has its own resource. The map pretty much goes on forever and scattered about is the resources you need. However everything will one day run out, but you can tinker with the setting when you start a new map. It's more of a "proper" game rather than a idle game as well. Although once you set up your defences and have a good flowing factories you can walk away if you want.

So the main idea is to set up pockets of factories that produce certain things just like this game, but the way it's done is more hands on and a bit slower. You'll also have to worry about things like power and pollution. Pollution effects the aliens and how fast they grow and how often they'll try and attack your factories.

So yeah I'd say check out a let's play of the game from this year as there's been a ton of updates, so if you watch one from last year certain things will be different. Also the devs have stated that they plan on increasing the price once the game launches as 1.0. I don't know when that is however.

hm i played the demo and i like the art style of rocket valley tycoon wayyyyy more but it is a pretty nice game and multiplayer is always a huge factor when i decide to buy a game. i might get it if i can convince some friends to get it.. does it have more than 2 player multiplayer? like 3 or 4 person coop?
