They know this game will not have a long shelf-life so they are going to do whatever they can to mitigate any development cost and ensure Nacon gets their profit on investment with hopes they don't end with their funding in the negatives.

No seriously, some people think everything should be free and every product makes tons of money so there is no need to pay for DLC, which is obviously wrong and in real world non sustainable. Thats why we want games to be kept alive, we hate DLC, how evil to charge for new content", but we love live service with corny skins so whales can flex. And then we complain that the content is not good enough or its not comming fast enough.. lol creature studios is no epic games.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that people who have supported the game since the beginning are being squeezed for another $10 to get the additional maps. How this dev team have fallen. Shame. Worth mentioning that there being paywalls will just increase piracy lmao Early backers should get the whole shebang, it's what we were promised.

Dude, are you serious? Look at the June update. Look at the update before that. You mean to tell me that given an extra six months that instead of just updating the game they literally put together a paid DLC package and a pre-order Deluxe Edition on top of the abysmal stuff like 'baggy pants' and a 'prison skater' for release on launch day.
So tell me how the focus isn't on money when they literally put out Prison Skater (their original default skater) and Peitruss (a modded map from almost two years ago) as a bonus and you can't even skate the damn thing because grabs and transitions are still being worked on post V1 launch.

It's not 'people thinking everything should be free' but rather crea-ture not giving people originally what they promised them. Kickstarter backers were promised one thing and even more after they reached their stretch goals yet almost five years into development and crea-ture are saying that those same people that helped fund and make this entire thing possible are being thrown into the same pot as people who have discovered this game exist just last week?? You can defend crea-ture all you want and give money to them all you want, but at the end of the day you got sold stuff that had already existed in the game already years ago that crea-ture made unplayable through updates and broken patches.

DLCs make sense for this game. The devs have been working on it for the past 5 years : most of the people who were interested by the game probably bought it already at this point, the devs can't expect to extend much more their playerbase on release (except for Playstation people), especially since the simulation aspect of the game makes it kind of niche.

Paid DLCs are a way to bank on the current players in order to fund long-term support, it's fine by me if the DLCs are fairly priced.

I really hope the core gameplay has been cleaned up, because it's still pretty janky in the current public version of the game. The teases shown look really good though (the bailing system will make things so much more enjoyable) so I'm optimistic.

I'm looking forwards to the release, keep up the good work lads !

I read this like 3 times and i still don't understand what are you trying to say. So i put this simple - there WILL be changes and updates to the GAMEPLAY at 1.0 vs current steam version. DLC is just something extra on top, they did no spend a half of year to JUST make a DLC. Why is this so hard to understand?

Your statement is false, you cannot skate these maps, well you can the untextured dev park in the current buggy early access version.. I got the game as a early access backer for 12€! I absolutely dont mind another 10€ for extra, remastered content, that wasnt originaly planned for the game.

How about arcade style controls?

It wasnt recooked and updated to be played with the latest build, unless you have the 3 year old build of the game.

DLC and an expansion already in the works, before the game is even out... say what you will about Skater XL, at least they release free maps every now and then.
