Issues With Pressure Flips

I'm unable to pull of Pressure Flips.
I'm putting in the correct controller inputs but my character keeps turning or doing quick half-reverts.
I'm unsure how this is happening because I went through the story mode once already and had no issues with them before, as far as I remember.

Could it be a settings issues that I just flubbed up while changing stats around or is this a legitimate bug?

For all I know, the method I do it could be the correct way, and the other way people are doing is probably registering sometimes because they move slightly past the down position. The Game doesn't provide correct and updated information on Tricks.
