Trick over the pad in Pier 7 Manny Pad Hop

There's this mission in San Francisco called "Pier 7 Manny Pad Hop" that asks you to trick over pads

That first goal "Trick over the first pad" never never gets registered. I've tried tricking over it so many times from all directions. I've also tried grinding it, doing a manual over it, etc...

How do you do this?

That one didn't always register for me either, but the direction you're looking is what ended up working for me. Hugging that green pillar on the left as close as possible as I skate by it, then turning back to the right just enough to pop over the pad as straight as possible and landing just above the stairs on the other side.

(Pretty sure it did not need a trick and an ollie was enough)

you need to hop over the small end of those pads (basically left sides of them while you stand next to the NPC)...not the middle or the right

I completed the mission! If you put your marker exactly here to start always from here, and then do a straight line towards the first manny pad, it works. After jumping over the first one, turn to the left to jump over the left side of the second one, and then the 3rd one...
