this is a simulator. you have to learn how to skate. just like real life.
i would suggest watching some videos on what....the stats and toggles actually do.
theres about 2-3 settings for each of the things the board can do.
if you have troubles turning, mess with the turning settings.
also, if you want the game to play more like skate3
you can decrease the gravity and/or increase pop height. you can make this game pretty floaty if you want.
a lot can be tweaked, will take a few hours to learn what those tweaks can do and what they do.
you can turn on auto revert so you fall less on bad angles, you can increase grind alignment so its easier to get into and stay in grinds.
its a struggle bus the first few hours, the career is more or less a glorified tutorial, so worth doing when learning the game

skate XL REQUIRES mods to play, its a great game, community is a bit ludicris. all they care about is grind pinches it seems. been like 2 years since ive had it installed though.
and yeah, you could have the advanced animations on, just, turn that off, its experimental for a reason.
as far as my settings, i dont even remember, i try not to mess with them.
but, i would suggest going to the advanced settings.
cant remember where, but not the stats but the toggles you can change.
what i use or somebody elses uses wont help you.
as there is 2-3 different settings for like 5 different variables.
so, there really is dozens of combinations you could be using.
