controller question!

So i am noticing that I can not play session with the ps5 controller wireless. it has to be plugged in to register on the game? does anyone else have this issue if so is there a fix or just running wired the only option?

you may need the PS software in order to get the controller to sync to your PC?

thats not a problem with this game in particular, i noticed that with a few games, so instead of just using the controller wirelessly without drivers, i use one of the few options. use steaminput, DS4WINDOWS, or reWASD (can output the controller as a wired ds4 controller but still be wireless).

you might actually be able to use a ds5 controller wirelessly without drivers, but since my past experience has been the same across many games, i dont even bother trying and go for the route with the best compatibility that i previously mentioned.

I also played with a PS5 controller for a short period. I had the exakt same issue as OP.

BUT, for me the real issue was (for some reason) the bluetooth connection. It was bad because I didn't plug in the antenna that came with my mainboard. It just didn't work although I was sitting right next to the PC.

After plugging in the antenna, the PS5 controller worked perfectly.

Maybe you have the same issue?
