Asus rog ally not working

Picked up a rog ally and really want r to be able to play session on it. But, the game loads up but when you press A on the main screen it crashes and gives

lowlevelfatalerror line (684) Comman list-> closed() failed at Z:/buildagent/work/d7652564882dd7d2/UE4/engine/source/runtime/d3d12rhi/private/d3d12commandlist.cpp:154 with error E_INVALIDARG

Anyone know what that might be (validated files several times) or how to get it to run on the Asus rog ally?

downgrading to DX11 via commandline might help

right click the game and click properties -> under launch options type in "-dx11" without the quotes. -> close pop up and launch game

common issue since 6+ months now on certain graphic cards and devs don´t seem willing to fix it

That's what I needed up doing and it's working great.

Bumping this because the issue seems prevalent after all recent driver updates and session update as well. Steam deck has no issues with DX12 in this game though for reference. Strange.
