In your "logic" of "you can't Ollie unless all wheels are touching the surface", then Ollie's in a Manual would not be possible.
Doesn't matter though, Games just a cash grab right?
To answer the OP though, it has nothing to do with "realism", infact it's the complete opposite. The Game doesn't understand that even if the Front Trucks go over a ledge, you should still have complete control over performing a Trick.
You just have to train your brain to perform the trick earlier. Same applies to tricks out of Grinds, give yourself enough pre-input time.
Yeah.... "realism"
That is completely different than ollieing out of a manual, obviously you can ollie out of a manual
The devs actually intentionally added this, I remember them talking about it. It might even be in some old pre release patch notes somewhere. You used to be able to do it in older builds and it makes complete sense that they changed it. If you're getting ready for an ollie and your front wheels go off the edge of something before you ollie you will likely fall or jump off your board. Unless you're intentionally trying to do that and counter it by doing a little manual before (which you can do in the game)
Thanks for the points, however you have completely missed my point... You claim you can't Ollie in Real Life unless you have all wheels on the surface, hence me using a Manual as an example of performing an Ollie without all wheels on the surface...
My point wasn't that "you need to Manual before you Ollie".... dumbest thing I've ever heard, but it was the fact that as you claim this game is just totally realistic [and a cash grab], then if that's the case, a Ollie COULD be performed IN REAL LIFE if you mess up and have your front truck slip off the stairs, you COULD technically still Ollie it.... in real life...
So in regards to your realism statement, there should be a way to not have the Game recognize your bail point yes?
I am now thoroughly convinced you have never ridden a skateboard in your life
^^^ OP asking why he is bailing near stairs.
^^^ You explaining how the Games realistic so if you don't have ground under your truck, you just simply CANNOT perform an Ollie in the Game, nor in Real Life.
^^^ Me explaining that it is possible to Ollie if your front truck slips off a ledge, it's very possible as an Ollie is performed with the front truck off the Ground... this is like SUPER simple basic learner stuff right here...
^^^ Done.
I used to yes, and I have Ollied from such a cause when I have messed up. It's much safer than bailing down a bunch of Stairs if you know you can achieve it.
Maybe at the end of the day I was simply a much better Skateboarder than you. Actually, not maybe, I'd say most definitely.
Although... for someone who can Ollie without taking any Wheels off the ground is certainly some substantial skill right there... actually nah I kid... you were just trash at it I guess.
Try again, use your big boy brain...I know you can do it bro!
There's only so much I can do to prove you wrong, unlike you who instead of explaining in detail, would much rather Troll.
So you enjoy your realism that doesn't provide realism, and enjoy being a terrible wanna-be skater in the big boy world.
The context of this entire thread is about skating down stuff. Go try and roll up to a set of stairs in real life and let your front trucks go down the stairs before you pop...you will fall and i guarantee it because you have to pop BEFORE the stairs. What is so hard to understand about that? That is what the entire thread has been about. You can't read and you insist on claiming i said "you can't ollie if your front truck is off the ground"

You could always show a video of it happening?
