Stuck on Advanced Manual Training

I've tried for hours to complete the 'switch manual' portion of the tutorial, and the detection just feels totally broken and its no fun at all. Its a tiny awkward platform you have to jump on and off, and I'm sure I've done it properly and its just never registered.

If someone or the devs could explain the logic behind this and in what order I need to rotate the joysticks to complete this challenge that would be great. If not I'm still within my refund window so I might just give up if all the challenges are going to be this janky.

No rotation involved.

1. Put a marker couple meters away facing the manual pad, with the skater being already on its board in switch stance => Up on the D-pad controller.
   
2. Push one or two time => X or A (Regular/Goofy)
   
3. Prep for the switch ollie => Back foot's stick down
   
4. Do the switch ollie => Release Back foot's stick down, and Front foot stick up.
   
5. Prep for switch manual => while in the air, put back foot's stick half-way down.
   
6. By the end of the pad, no pop-out => release the back foot's stick when the rear wheels are not rolling on the pad anymore

Same, way too - unnecesseraly complicated gameplay even at tutorial mission, best way is a refund for me.
