SkaterXL has superior skating and grinding mechanics but its just a tech demo ATM, so with the content already in Session its hands down better than SXL

in my opinion session has its own vibe, style and charm. Skater XL, while technically superior just doesnt have that (at the moment)

skater xl is a nice tech demo, but will never be a finished game.
they already did the same with the original skater app.

session is already much more polished, if the developers polish it a bit further, this will be a pretty short "war".

I didnt spend much time with sxl. Felt void to me, refunded it quickly. Good to since people are saying its just a tech demo that wont be finished.

Session has fulfilled my digital appetite for skatin, and my son is really diggin it too. Fun for the whole family! Cant wait till we go get him a real board!

I'd love to check out SkaterXL but people complaining about a complete lack of content, the project hardly receiving any updates the past year and the requirement to use mods if you want to get anything out of the game is holding me back. Seeing the devs advertising a switch release while still being an early access tech demo strokes me the wrong way too.

Lets just hope that Session offers the competition needed for both products to reach their full potential.

This argument again lol. It’s more of a preference at this point. Both games have their perks. They’re both early in development and have a ways to go before being a finished game. I enjoy both of them tbh

LOL, you'll skate around 100 square feet of nothing. You'll Ollie unrealistically high when you hold down on both joysticks then push up on both joysticks(realistic huh? I mean i'd love to do a double foot heel flip to bust my ass.) All the PC people that put money in on skaterxl they used it to create their console version of the game, only to port over to PC again. (which most ports are horrible. Excited to see how fast they fix any PC bugs with the beyond yearly update or patches :(

Anyway, to each their own. Session is sick & I think its set a new standard, I hope the Devs stay focused or i'll have to pull my ps3 out of my closet & play my skate games :((((((((((((((((( uggh

its fun, but just dont expect too much from it.

if you dont use any mods it just throws you into the tiny courthouse map, without any menu or options, there you can try out the controls and have some fun.
i dont even get why they leave it in that state for so long, the controls are a really good concept, so there was clearly someone with a lot of passion for skateboarding behind it.
sales where also good for such a niche product, so money shouldnt be the problem to work some more on it.

same for their abandoned mobile app, that was a nice concept, but full of bugs and glitches, they just left it that way.

edit: lol, skater xl just updated.

I just tried the new SXL update and I didn't find it that good, I stilll prefer the look and feel of Session

should have kept your skaterxl purchase... in july the game releases and the price goes up, watch some of the videos of the release version... its awesome, I play both and will continue to play both, skateboarding is fun, I play for fun, bite me :D
