This isnt Skate, SkaterXL, Tony Hawk or anything other than Session. A boarding Sim, not an arcade game. Don't expect to master the controls instantly & hit ramps while doing some 1000080, 200 front flip tony hawk kind of crap. If you havent ever skated before, understand this is probably the most authentic controls to some IRL boarding.

Its still in Early Access so don't expect a full/complete game with no bugs yet. If you miss SkaterXL Controls, then please go back to your SkaterXL game...... Skate, TH, whatever it may be, but for the love of something please stop flooding the discussion boards here comparing this game to others.......

Im going to stay away from the discussion boards until the 1 hour/30 min players crying about the game go away... This is to much.

IKR!!! It's sad when people who've played the game long enough to read half the tutorial are allowed to leave a review...... LOL bad review at 1.7 & now currently has 12.1 hours of play time, fix your review!!! Then the SkaterXL players, Ohhh man....... I mean we all push both our feet/legs forward to hit those higher ollies irl, am I right!!? "skaterXL controlled"

Session is amazing man!! To many players want an arcadey boarding game, I however love this Sim & support it. Even if they ban some of my discussion board posts, yo I get it but I still love it.

Yeah...I mean, the game states it's going for a sim approach and warns you that it's a tough game to master. IDK what the hell people want...they claim to be longtime fans of Skate, but refuse to give this game a fair shot (I mean, even Skate took some serious investment to get accustomed to...same thing with Session). You could argue even Skate wasn't a sim, just EA's phase of using joystick controls for every sports game they release since Fight Night made it popular.

What I liked so much from the Skate series was how much more seriously it treated skateboarding compared to Tony Hawk. And now this game can be compared similarly to Skate... if you look up 'skilled Skate gameplay' it looks f******g obnoxious and dumb. I hope this game gets some serious polish at some point, I keep falling through the ground and it's not fun. I do hope to get in the same zone as Skate or Tony Hawk... by that I mean 'look at that rail over there... let's grind it.' It'll take some practice to get to that point and that's what I like about this game.

I hear ya!! man I just found a rail 3 stairways down, killed it :) took me about 8 hours or so to feel comfortable with the controls but man the flow is really kicking in especially after some drinks etc. I might just start streaming some ♥♥♥♥ with my controller visible or something. Boarding really is a beautiful art, irl & now in this game!!! Self Expression is right here! There isnt no "lucky landing" kinda crap from the arcadey ♥♥♥♥ out there. Loving this to much!!!! I hope you all are too! Keep killing it ma dudes/dudets

Relax my dudes. Most people like the game, they only want the controlls to feel better, more responsive , with more controll over your board.

Instead of saying :"This isnt Skater XL, stop requesting SXL controlls" maybe you should ask yourselfs why people feel that way. Why do they think that Skater XLs controlls feel better?

It is what it is, the game's early access, and the devs have their own ideas for a skating game. I enjoy it so yeah, glad to see other folks enjoying it. I mean it's not like the first 3 SKATE games or the Tony Hawk games don't exist any more. I could load them up if I wanted to and play them.
