Music!--questions and ideas

So first to the questions:

Will there be new stations added in the future?
Will all stations have songs with profanity?
Will all stations be rap hip hop?

Ideas:
I will start with can you implement a feature that lets you insert your own music to play in game? Make your own custom station as it were.

Can you add multiple genres of music? I would be down to busting out some tricks and grinds to Vivaldi you know....i am pretty sure i am alone on that one, hence idea #1.

Can you implement a profanity filter, so no songs with profanity will play.

I agree I was thinking this the other day, because I keep playing my own music on Youtube while I play. At first the british rap stuff is interesting but then it gets tiring as hell and I don't want to hear it anymore. Not enough songs in the game, either.

Glad I am not alone in this thinking.

I have been playing my own music on windows media player, which is working fine for me. It's not a big deal as most games I play do not have music or enough music and I end up playing my own anyway. But I have played a few games where it allowed you to play your own music in game. Wish I could bring them to mind.

I am a metal and classical fan myself (i know polar opposites). What do you grind to Primitive Brutality?

I like the ideas proposed. Metal and classical actually share a fair amount in common. I'd suggest looking into neoclassical metal if you haven't already.

to me music and skating have always gone hand in hand.


it's been many years since i've been on a board and i have been thinking about getting back on one in the last couple. My son is curious so i think it would be a great thing we could do together. I could totally show him how to face plant like a champ =P

Agreed about music and skating - skating seems to have a kind of 'beat' or at least flow to it, so the two can mix well. I think the first neoclassical artist I listened to was Borislav Mitic, definitely recommend giving him a try. Or Vinnie Moore (the album Mind's Eye is a masterpiece).

I haven't been on a board in around 15 years. I wish I was in my early 20s again, those were the days! At almost 40, I have a feeling I'd have a rude awakening after a half-decent bail!

I've been using Steam's Music Player to play music in my games since the feature was available. You can even map it to the same buttons you use to change the music in-game. I don't know what the problem is.

i guess the problem is the licencing for such a small studio.
cant expect them to pay vast sums of money to have multiple stations with known artist.

I'm in the same boat as you brother! If my boy really wants one and talks me into doing with him i can't help but to at least show him some basics. I wouldn't dream of attempting any grinding any time soon either.

@Ludens, i will have to check the steam music player out, sounds like a nifty feature i am not familiar with. Can you put your own music on that?

@Misfit, i figured that to be the case which is why i asked for the ability to run your own owned music.

The reason I am interested in a feature like that is I use the steam link quite a bit and stream my pc downstairs to my tv. Exiting out of big picture and trying to open another program outside of steam can be a bit finicky, so if the steam music player works the way i hope it does my problem may already be solved.

Edit: FYI my wife is completely opposed to the idea and thinks i will kill myself....she is probably right.
