I got you! While doing a manual make sure to drag the board as far back as possible so that you get the appropriate pop to flick the board and do additional tricks.

I find it works best when I go into manual, and then quickly move into the trick versus a slow build up. Makes pop shove its and other stuff complete on a flat surface. Like for kickfips, you can quickly bring the back foot stick, back all the way and get into it.

What may be making it difficult is that you are doing the commands in rapid succession. Lightly hold back in order to do a manual, then begin to pull back to lift your board up and then input the right command for whatever trick you are doing. This gives you the proper pop you need to pull off clean tricks. Trust me, I was spending the better part of thirty minutes figuring this out. I couldn't do a basic kickflip-manual-heelflip without tripping on my heelflip, now, I am pulling off laserflips and hardflips at the beginning or end of my trick combo.

ok so lower input for manual give higher jump to do a trick yes?

I try my favorite tricks do in this game (hardflip over 9steps - long manual and popshow it over the curb and long manual Banks spot) the and easier is explore whole map searching how Devs doing a bad work in "Unreal Engine" (If you see my screenshots from this game)

Thaks for the advice but TBH I think the problem i'm having is using manual catch mode, where the stick is held doing the manual, when i am flicking the other stick to pull a trick, i'm not letting go of the manual quick enough and it's registering as i'm catching the trick. On auto catch mode i'm able to combo manuals but on manual catch mode -as I say- it's tricky.
Ah, then that might be the problem, yeah. I don't use any of those helping features and everything works perfectly. With the exception of sometimes pushing forward and the suddenly pushing the opposite direction.

How do you manual in the first place? It wasn't in the tutorial and I can't find anything in the controls. I've tried playing with the sticks but haven't gotten anything to happen as far as a manual goes.

XD, just lightly pull down on the right analog stick, or up on the left analog stick.
Do not hold up or down all of the way because then you will go into your ollie or nollie stance.

Here is a demonstration I just did. If you just follow what others said above it can very much be done. I just did random tricks in between. I probs can do it easily from years and years of playing Skate :)

I can't seem to watch it in my client so if you have problems it works in a browser.
