and im playing the game as andrew reynolds so i just want to frontside flip everything...
allow me to add some windup animation before launching and once my finger is ''locked'' I feel more free to do other stuff with the sticks .. if you undershoot, I suggest you to fully pull triggers before landing, this way you can add some extra leg work an make it sexier ;) this trick can be used to conrtol overshoot too but its lot les sexy
That's what makes the game nice, that it's hard af. Ty for making this <333
Basically you press the trigger down when you pop if you want 180. If you want 360 then you need to press the trigger down as you're starting to "wind up" for pop.
Using speed more often is close to 180 or undershoot, and YES, the extra leg work feature make tricks then very sexy. Super cool implementation, awesome game and options for the heavily discussed rotation topic.
BTW, I posted as suggestion to add the option to rotate the stick layout in a 90 degree angle earlier so that my real life shoulders are more feeling like I'm standing over my virtual board. It might have gone under in the main controls discussions. I would really appreciate to get some feedback on this idea - if a realizable idea, or maybe already tested and failed. You as own of the crea-ture Studios account here and you are tagged as developer, it seems like you are the right person to ask ;)
all 3 options atm feel overly complicated to me.
they work after getting used to, but never feel right.
i dont see the benefit in this automated control, doing exact rotations consistantly seems nearly impossible, seems to auto correct me always in 180 steps.
Absolutely agree with your point. The fact that you have first learn and also memorize how to perfrom a trick smooth and in your personally prefered style (for example by also turning off auto catch) in their controls system, opens up new dimensions and years of fun for expressing yourself in the game.
Pretty cool vision, and also pretty ambitious for a six person team, but as the early access release proves they are totally on track!
This is all on a Steam Controller too where I can fine tune the trigger pull linearity, as well as both thumbpads, so I suppose I can always just map the controller to fit whatever bad habits I've got going on.
PS: This game is legit awesome.
Strongly advise you to also check out the manual catch mode if you haven't yet for even more awesomeness ;) Even more challenging, but when you know the feeling like for example catching a kickflip into a bank perfectly and push to board down, you'll smile even more often during playing. It's hard, no more easy peasy kickflips up or down stairs without input, but worth to try when you got caught by the realism the game offers.
