What sort of controllers does this game support?

I'm enjoying the hell out of this on my Switch, but I want to have it on PC and I'm wondering if 8-Bit Do controllers are supported. Anybody have any experience there?

They are... sorta. But the layout is different that it should be. I play on that official 8BitDo bluetooth NES controller, and i can't set one button. I guess Start, or Select. i set it to LB instead. Rest is fine and it does not cripple your input in any way.
I also tested DS4, X360 and Hori ( it has layout like old sega genesis pads ) All those three gamepads work fine

Yeah, I can confirm 8bitdo controllers works on this game. Even an original NES controller works, just need to rebind a couple of buttons in-game depending what kind of controller is being used.

Ok cool! After your posts I bought it on GOG and everything works perfectly, using the SNES 8bit do. MUCH more comfortable than playing on the Switch.

Anything with Xinput should work right out of the box for any modern game. 8bitdo pads, have both xinput and dinput you can set them to.

Oh, I don't doubt it one bit, I've just had some games not recognize the 8bit do. Perhaps I need to update the firmware, it is 4-5 years old, after all.

Steam takes care of that sort of thing these days, that any controller can be made to work as long as you can get steam to see the device to map the inputs.
