Some of the foods sell for several reds each. If you get a setup of one of those going strong you'll have plenty of coins.
True, although I tend to agree with rich about the red coins -- there are times when your workers run out of trees to chop, and half the time workers refuse to cut down trees planted in tree planters, they just move to that tree and do nothing.
Can get rather frustrating when you've just perfected your infrastructure and the natural resource it was built to harvest has run out. Self-sustainable industries would be nice, although perhaps that would make things *too* easy.
This was fixed in a recent patch. If they are still killing your trees, you might need to start a new game or pick up/move your forester for a minute and put it back.
