maybe moving (by a single tile, or more tiles when repeating that single-tile-move, thus needing a level area around the building) instead of teleporting it to any location at any height still could be considered pure QoL and not a cheat, and thus be available in vanilla ?
i know i'm coming into this late (i can't keep up with all the threads...i don't know how you do it Erik!!) but i tend to side with those that feel moving a building with contents intact is pretty unbalanced. i'd even say the ability to move a worker in the same manner is also unbalanced but the reward is much less.
i don't know what the solution is other than just to say you can't move them though. only allowing people to move them one or a few spaces is likely to just annoy people even more than not being able to move at all. personally i would say a more balanced approach might be to allow moving but all contents of a building (or worker) are deleted when moved. that way if you want to preserve your materials you should set up a new building in a new location and manually transfer things via belts or workers. why should all my goods just magically transfer somewhere? it is a logistical game after all...
also agree that using "Move" as the method to clear transport paths is not clear.
