Force relevant items into building
It would be nice to have the option to force a item a building can make, inside it.

Example, transfer butter to a kitchen or nailes inside a forge.
Now you can only insert milk so the kitchen have to make it on its own. (This can be to slow)

Output = Input /Allowed

not a bad idea - will consider it!

There is a work around I just found. You can use a grabber to pull the first item out, put it on a belt and send it back in.

Example: A single workshop making cloth and shirts. The grabber is set to pick up cloth out the side, puts it on a small loop belt, that delivers it back into the workshop.

It does slow down production though, but if you are just keeping barns full, it saves some buildings.

I don't understand the need for this, the functionality already exists inside those buildings? You don't have to take the pieces out, just don't pull them out. Use a grabber and filter for the final product, like the shirt production, you get your cotton into the building, you select both recipes, cloth, shirt, and then you simply use a grabber to pull just the shirt out onto a belt or whatever, all the cloth is then used to make shirts. You don't have to care about the cloth ever again.

I have one machine shop making the pieces for metal rails and metal conveyor belts. So it has to make 4 different things inside that one machine shop and I use grabbers to pull out the rail tiles and metal conveyor belts into separate barns. So the two other parts never leave the machine shop and just get used as they stay filled up. It does make production slower by the amount of workers / how many things they have to make, but it works and for things that you don't need to sell, it keeps your barns full at a steady pace.

The problem is that butter takes 5 sec to make.
With butter you can make Fish Stew, Apple Pie and Cake.

In 10 sec you can make 1 cake, 1 pie and 1,8 stew.
In 10 sec you can make 2 butter.

3,8>2

That's why I would like to feed butter to the kitchen.

You can make another kitchen, to for example make the stew, but then that kitchen need's 3 more sources of products AND upgrades+speed boosts.
So the most effective would be 1 big kitchen with support from smaller, but this is not possible since you cant insert butter.

I have a kitchen making only cakes that's being fed butter by another kitchen. Are you trying to insert the butter into the output? The buildings don't accept anything on their main output spot. Rotate the building if you need to.

Right, I have 2 streams of butter from the left, an egg stream, an apple stream, 2 milk streams, and 2 flour streams going into one kitchen to make apple pies and cakes at the same time. It's completely backed up but that's all the people I had at the time, after optimization I'll add another final kitchen or two.
