Chute directions are way too random
Let's say I build it like
B
L------x
I drop items at x, and it goes to B

B
L------x------y
I drop items at y, it gives me the "only chute ends" BS
So I go
B
L------x y
I assign y as dropoff

Now I reconnect
B
L------x------y

This works from y to B until x gets fed up again.

Some arrows would be nice for indication to begin with - also some way to rotate it.
The way it is right now is absolutely annoying and I need those chutes for early game.

There is currently a bug where chute endpoints are incorrectly flagged as invalid if they are perpendicular to some other building. Working on that right now in fact. Can you post a screenshot of a setup that you think should work, but doesn't?

Using this mana recharging setup the crystal gets stuck whenever it comes to rest due to another cryystal being outputted in front. When placing a stop signal at the front the crystals that arrive at it won't come to rest but instead change their direction and flow backwards even though the curves dictate another direction. Same was observed when outputting onto a chute that was coiled around the outputting building. Instead of following the curve they would immediately flow backwards whether there was an obstruction in their path or not.

I'll fix that one right now!

I have a new build up on the beta branch (version .122) that should fix the chute issue Razuhl mentioned, and also I believe the one that Tenchuu mentioned. I'll probably set it live later today or tomorrow, but if you get a chance to check it out in the meantime to confirm it solves your problem that would be appreciated!

Beta branch fixes my issues.

If you have multiple end points on a chute, you have to put Pushers right before every junction. That will force the items in the correct direction and clear any jams automatically.

Though if it's a fixed bug, you might not need this workaround now.

This fix is now up on the main stable branch (.122). Thanks for the info

Now I built a single chute and it was already like: Must be dropped off at endpoint.

Will uninstall and try again in a few months, this ♥♥♥♥ is just frustrating.

Edit: Beta Branch though

I guess I need a screenshot to debug this further - sorry for the frustration, definitely interested in helping you out here though.

Chutes are just ♥♥♥♥.
You could, you know - just have them have fixed directions and arrows showing where they are going.

Erik Asmussen  [developer] Oct 2, 2019 @ 10:15am
That's probably where I'll end up going. The one issue is that I like how you *could* create a chute that goes uphill if there is enough speed - and rolling backwards, downhill, should therefore be a valid behavior. But the built-in one-way directionals could determine movement direction in the 99.99% of cases where that's not what is happening.

Hi.
Well - sorry for my ragequit but I'm really frustrated about starting a new game and then I run into another bug that should be a core functionality of the game.

And chutes, which are essential to the early game just don't do their job... or at least they do... then they don't... and I don't know when

You could have just pressed M and remove it from the chute...
