Possession theory little nightmares series *Spoiler Warning*

Hello, everyone I hope everyone is safe and doing well. After reading all the comments playing all the games and reading the comics I have a theory of my own. I’m still writing out the details but I can answer most of questions. I do agree six does get a lot of harsh criticism but I think there is a reason.

Please do not read past here if you have not beaten very little nightmares , little nightmares or little nightmares 2.

To clarify something Very little nightmares is indeed the prequel to little nightmares.

If you have not played it I reccomend at least checking it out.

We will start with very little nightmares and little nightmares.

At the end of very little nightmares we all know six friend (the character who we played as) died trying to escape the pretender and that’s were six got her coat. But that’s were things started south for six. When the first girl died she possessed the coat as an angry spirit wanting revenge. When six put on the coat that spirit attached to her. Now this is not a full possession more like a partial possession. As we know the darker version of six normally appears when she eats something. But during those time of extreme hunger is when the possession is at its strongest. Her mind is weak as well as her body. Evidence scene of that possession is when you first get the bread from the little boy and you look at the top right corner where the boxes are you can see the shadow watching her. This spirit gets stronger the longer she was in the Maw, with every time she gets hungry it also gets stronger. Now to the biggest controversy of why six are the 13th gnome a.k.a. the runaway boy. After reading a bunch of theories I think most of those theories are contributing factors such as being so hungry she ate the first thing she can grab and wanting to absorb the information that the runaway kid knew. But as you can see if you look at the top of the shelf during that scene you can see the shadow watching over her and I think at this point she was possessed and took control of six his body and made her eat the runaway kid instead of the sausage gaining the knowledge she needed to beat the lady.

Now after the ladies defeated and six consumes her and her power that is at the point where the spirit was satisfied that it got her power. We see the possession of six when she’s walking through the guests killing everyone she sees. At the same time gettin out. Proof of this possession is the dark aura around her it’s identical to the spirit when it appears.

Possible aftermath.Since the events of Little Nightmares. While in the hospital in the part were you have to shut of the machine to lure the doctor out to get the power cell. At first play through there I payed no mention to the person in the doctors bed. But looking at it closely I noticed that the silhouette looked simular to the Janitor from little nightmares. The silhouette also had no arms. putting two and two together it must the janitor from the maw. The doctor must know him personally since he was taking care of him. Proof of this is the mask that you find during your escape from the hospital. One of the cooks may be found in the school on the freezer. The build looks almost simular to one of the cooks. More examination needs to be done.

Now for little nightmares 2. As we all know and could guess six at this point has amnesia and somehow lost her coat hopefully through DLC or through additional comics we can learn how she lost it. But during this time the spirit went dormant and was sealed at some point hence why she didn’t use her abilities. Now that being said because of the spirit the damage is already done and six has developed A case of dual personality disorder most likely traumatized by her friend and the event she went through the Maw other possibilities she gaining a short temper. Evidence of this is seen when she is jumps onto the bully smashing his head and breaking the mannequin fingers. I remember reading somewhere that she probably try to escape from the tall man and because of him the spirit was sealed because if you all recall not once did we ever see that spirit in the entire game and six never once used her abilities. Personally I think she was escaping someone and she had to ditch it to escape. Leaving the spirit/ shadow behind. But when six got her coat back and at the end of the game got taken to the TV IS when that spirit reawakened. This spirit is not a glitch like all the others you have seen. The glitches remain in one spot and seem to do minor movements. The six spirit on the other hand can move freely as seen on the train tracks. The spirit is not worried at all and is confident she will be with six once again. Hence seen it playing around on the tracks and whatching mono. Now with with a bunch of her emotions like anger sadness came back to work hence why she turned in to the creature. As added evidence when she puts the coat on the light flickered. If you remember in little nightmares this only happened when the spirit manifests itself combination of some memories returning as well. This spirit also seems to attemp to lure mono to six. At the scene were Mono gets off the train the spirit makes numerious apperiences. At the very end when six betrayed mono or everyone thinks she did; I personally don’t think so because once you collect all of the glitches and when six exits the TV you can see that spirit again. And at this point I do not believe that was six that let go. If six was hungry during that time or since the spirit was reawakened it took possession of six and at the very end. The spirit needs six to get stronger thus why she needed mono to get her back.

But thinking about it a loop doesn't sound to right in fact At the end when the spirit looked at the paper with the Maw. It was not thinking about returning to it. On the contrary I think it was remembering it. Thus Six hunger returned. The spirit may want more power. But just to clarify something just because the lady and a few things happened in the maw will not cause it to shutdown. Just like any real life business If someone leaves, quits or dies they simply find a replacement.

Six her self is a nice person evidence of this is seen in little nightmares one where she hugged the gnomes as well as help them as well as trying to help/save her friend (the girl in the yellow jacket). And little nightmares two as she rescues and helps mono. I’m still working out the details Because in order for me to have this theory I had to play very little nightmares and a little nightmares a bunch of times and noticed a little things.

As for Mono I don't think that he is the same person as the tall man. I think its just as something simple as he became the next tall man. Another theory I have about him. is that Mono is a copy of the thin man. Doomed to be copied and take over the station when he gets to old.

I’m aware that this has been confirmed to be a prequel. I started a comic a while back based if it was a sequel. It will be following along with my theory. Not everything I thought of was posted here.
Comic story may change.

Confirming LM2 was a prequel will not stop this project.

I like this theory, its defiantly interesting but there are alot of issues that are already clarified, seeing as Little Nightmares 2 is a prequel to Little Nightmares, so its in between 1 and Very Little Nightmares and at the end of VLN, it was never specified that she put the yellow coat on, instead it appears that after leaving on her raft from the Nest, she had been captured by the Hunter, where Mono goes to save her. A digital comic was posted that Mono had seen her get captured, but i don't really know if it was released by the developers. In anycase, it would explain how and why we went to go get her. As for a dual personality, I don't think this is the case either. There isn't any real evidence other then your theory of possession, which she wouldn't have gotten unless she put on the coat, which we can see that she puts it on AFTER the school. And we see a bit of her darker side. A side we can see that holds a grudge. I could explain more if you wish.

there is a secret ending where six's shadow (i believe is the spirit in the coat that you are talking about) goes through the tv or something but anyway the spirit makes an appearance and reminds six of what she did. then six starts to regret what she did. also note that in order to get this secret ending you must collect all the shadow figures, which could be fragments or the spirit in the coat's power. six seems to get stronger and faster in chases after the player discovers the first shadow figure at the beach.
