*Spoilers* Alternate ending possibly?
So I beat the game with my fiance... we love the game... we were pissed at the ending cause again Six is basically a bad guy... but.. I noticed something early on and I think this may trigger an alternate ending though I am not sure... if I am right someone let me know

The first time I noticed it was when Six goes up and she breaks the doll childs neck.. however in that room there is a hammer where you can kill the doll child before six breaks its neck...

if six breaks the doll childs neck the music changes to a more darker tone... if you kill the doll child the music stays the same...

So with that I made sure I killed the doll before six at that point cause also if you look at that particular part there is a hammer there for a reason and at that part you cant take the hammer forward cause there is a hurdle there so basically this is a point where I figured you have to do save six from commiting this particuar deed to maybe save her...

So here are the 3 area's I believe I noticed where you can save here but have not done them all let me know what you all think

1- You kill the doll child with the hammer before six can break his neck (I did this) and music stayed positive

2- When you need to burn the bear to get the key... six throws the horse into the furnace... you need to go back into the furnace and throw it out so you dont burn it (I didnt do this but the music turned dark afterward just like with the doll child before I reverted to last check point and killed it first)

3- The big slug guy that is on the ceiling... after luring him into the furnace.. dont start the furnace just run to the elevator and leave (I didnt do this and the music turned dark and six warmed herself by the fire)

Am I on the right track.. has anyone else noticed this? I know thats there for a reason... but have yet to try it

No you'll get the same ending regardless. The whole reason Six betrays Mono is because he smashed the one thing that made her feel safe and I guess she kinda felt like he was the thin man from the start
I haven't seen it myself but I will say that there is a secret ending if you gather all of the glitched remains, although it doesn't affect the actual ending it does show you the motivation behind Six's actions.

Six was never a good person, she ate the gnome which was actually the runaway kid in the dlc of the first game. Mono also never reached out to save six when she was taken by the Tall Man.

I believe that this is the only ending and you become The Thin Man since this game tries to mirror what happens in the first game.

It could be that there is really no meaning to the ending. It could very well be just a weird nightmare-like universe where its protagonists are trapped in a loop, waking up in a nightmare, going through it, just to eventually reemerge into another nightmare.

Six goes through the first nightmare, fights the villain, gains the villain's powers, grows to become the villain, until she is eventually defeated the same way. As of why she is in the second game? Maybe she isn't the same Six that we played as, and she's just her residual energy, there to make sure the events unfold as they should.

Maybe once they complete the cycle, they become part of this universe and guide other protagonists to the same fate, whether it is willingly or unwillingly. We have the kid from the first game who takes part on Six's turning savage as he is eaten by her. This eventually leads Six to eat The Lady. Maybe that kid was a protagonists in his own nightmare once and went through the same fate of becoming a villain. Now he's only but a mere guide, just like Six in the second game.

there is a secret ending but it triggers by finding all of those dark shadow people you find in the game

There's a lot of speculation currently that the only reason that Six lets you fall is that since it's the first time you're not wearing a hat or mask to obscure your face it's the first time she can actually see your face, and recognizes that you're actually the thin man and decides self preservation is her best bet, and in doing so ironically creates the very thing trying to get her through that betrayal. This makes sense since if she was planning on betraying you all along it would have made far more pragmatic sense for her to just keep running and leave you there to die instead of trying to catch you first, potentially falling in herself and then only dropping you after gets a good stare at your face.

The secret ending is the origin for shadow 6. You can see shadow 6 in the original game each time 6 eats.

Alternative ending possibly, but put any notion of 'saving' her out of your mind. Six is the Little Nightmare of the title, she's a baby monster and an obligate predator. You'll never form a lasting human relationship there for a very straightforward reason.

thought of this to but your point on toy burning didn't think of but it is good idea to take it out, but never tried as still ugh about what six did at the end, one thing that bothered me where some of the boss lived for example teacher, and doctor survived if chose not to kill burn him. while hunter and thin man can die.

if this where to work, make less death, to prevent to much negative actions/influence on six.

first boss-hunter needs to live, can the gun be moved? i have not check if him shooting at the door, the window panels fall down? so can escape?
teacher-she alive (saw no option to kill her) so bully prevention makes sense with hammer near bully six tries to kill.
doctor-can survive if don't burn him
thin man- i noted when running by the suicide people jumping off the building they jumped in order 1,3,2,5,4 (I wonder if that was code to something, or way to avoid killing thin man)
six- i saw people mention she offers her music box to you, but i never saw her push music box to me, so maybe i did to many negative/killings. etc

so maybe there is way, if first boss can avoid killing and jumping through window?

that is true, game dev give no option to prevent her from being taken, so forced bad ending where she turns on you. if indeed their no other way/actions to prevent it. it's all scripted, just like building falling down on you, can't even hold her hand and run to save her from being stuck, and even grabbing her hand under table to move her under bed don't work. jeez lol
