It could be that there is really no meaning to the ending. It could very well be just a weird nightmare-like universe where its protagonists are trapped in a loop, waking up in a nightmare, going through it, just to eventually reemerge into another nightmare.
Six goes through the first nightmare, fights the villain, gains the villain's powers, grows to become the villain, until she is eventually defeated the same way. As of why she is in the second game? Maybe she isn't the same Six that we played as, and she's just her residual energy, there to make sure the events unfold as they should.
Maybe once they complete the cycle, they become part of this universe and guide other protagonists to the same fate, whether it is willingly or unwillingly. We have the kid from the first game who takes part on Six's turning savage as he is eaten by her. This eventually leads Six to eat The Lady. Maybe that kid was a protagonists in his own nightmare once and went through the same fate of becoming a villain. Now he's only but a mere guide, just like Six in the second game.
thought of this to but your point on toy burning didn't think of but it is good idea to take it out, but never tried as still ugh about what six did at the end, one thing that bothered me where some of the boss lived for example teacher, and doctor survived if chose not to kill burn him. while hunter and thin man can die.
if this where to work, make less death, to prevent to much negative actions/influence on six.
first boss-hunter needs to live, can the gun be moved? i have not check if him shooting at the door, the window panels fall down? so can escape?
teacher-she alive (saw no option to kill her) so bully prevention makes sense with hammer near bully six tries to kill.
doctor-can survive if don't burn him
thin man- i noted when running by the suicide people jumping off the building they jumped in order 1,3,2,5,4 (I wonder if that was code to something, or way to avoid killing thin man)
six- i saw people mention she offers her music box to you, but i never saw her push music box to me, so maybe i did to many negative/killings. etc
so maybe there is way, if first boss can avoid killing and jumping through window?
