My Recommended Mods For Race 07

Race 07 is still a great game & one i still continue to play even though there are many great sims, but there is just something special about it , here`s some of my favourite mods

1. Crew Chief Plugin : Crew Chief isn`t officially supported which is really bizarre to me but fortunately there is a plugin mod for it which emulates the rfactor/Ams support. This ones easy to use, you must have CrewChief installed foremost then just double click either the rfactor exe or ams from the mod, start crewchief & select either rfactor or ams from the menu , i use the rfactor one, then start Race 07, now you have crewchief in all its glory, yellow flags don`t get recognised but not a big deal. Oh you might want to disable track cutting in Crew Chief Settings as it is super sensitive & Jim will drive you nuts keep reminding you. This mod really adds life to the game

2. No Visor Mod : For some reason Simbin thought it was a good idea to have you look through the visor in open wheel cars like the F1 cars but this really hampers your view. This mod removes that & is essential in my opinion

3. No Bugs Mod : This one removes the splats on the windscreen of cars. Although a nice touch this gives you a nice clear screen & is also vital to have if using the no visor mod because the game still thinks your in visor mode and the effect still appears on screen which looks weird

4. Cars: There are many car mods for the game so each to their own but my personal fav`s are sl touring seasons which brings the cars & drivers from the mid to late 90`s. It`s basically Toca 2 Touring cars ps1 all over again but better( you`ll need the stcc2 expansion installed for this & download version 2.5.2 if your not using the Race Remaster mod which i`ll touch upon at the end. GT Legends Mod: this one brings the cars from GT Legends to race 07. If you use the car filter & have the retro pack expansion u can add them for more variety. These cars are difficult to drive but once mastered it`s awesome, its like having race 07`s own little version of power & glory. BMW CSL Turbo Mod by Mogh16: The CSL`s are already in the retro expansion but this mod introduces souped up V8 versions with a huge roster with great skins & incredible engine sounds, definitely worth a download.

5. Tracks: The game & its dlc has a great number of already quality tracks, Again there are many tracks to download so here`s just some of my fav`s. Anything by VLM like Sebring, Rouen, Lemans. Others: Donnington Park 2004, Rostock, Sachsenring 67, Spa 66, Spa 08, Halle Saale Schleife, Oulton Park 2005, Adelaide, Milbantos, Silverstone, Lienz Sunset, Suzuka v.1.0 to name a few.

6. Race Remaster: A complete overhaul of the base game in an attempt to modernize the graphics/Shaders. The good thing about it is that it comes with it`s own installer & does not overwrite your original install allowing you to switch between the two. Worth a look

& finally although not a mod it`s a good idea to apply NTcore`s 4gb patch to the games exe. This will patch the game which is 32bit to allow 4gb of memory to be used instead of 2 on 64bit systems & is helpful if running lets say a less than great optimised track or with a large field of cars to smooth out the framerate, should do this with gtr2/gtl too.
