Inviting new player to Survival 2.0 mid-game

Started one of the new Survival 2.0 worlds, set it to private and put a password because I don't want random people joining. Now I can't invite a friend to join me since he wasn't there when I made the world.

Is it possible for them to join midway? If they can't, this is really dumb. I have several friends who would play this but we don't know when we'll all be sitting down at the exact same time to start a world (because life commitments).

I have to assume this is an oversight. I cannot imagine that this is how its intended to be.

So do I. It just doesn't make sense that you need to get EVERYONE at the same time in order to keep it private. I hope they change it.

Update on this!

You CAN join friends in progress, but its not so Intuitive.
In order to do this, your friends need to click on one of their empty world slots, and click "Worlds List".
They then need to type in the name of your world (World XXX XXX) and find it in there, then join with the password you set.
Once joined though, they should be able to rejoin whenever they like, so long as they dont "Abandon World"

We actually tried that world searching feature. It doesn't quite work properly and it's not always discoverable. We sat there for a good 30 minutes trying every combination of the server name to get it to work, to no avail.
