climbing elevated areas and discarding old items

Is there any way to climb up to, say, an area with a ruins that is completely elevated with no ramp?

Secondly, is it possible to sell old items, or do I just drop them on the ground?

I guess it's in survival.
You can use stairs or roofs to climb cliffs. You can craft a Sindri's Foundry (trade with Eira) after beating Fenrir to sell items but it's not very usefull.
