What sense does it make to extend building options (promised for the next update), when all your work will be wiped out regularly on their updates? If that's the case they've lost me as a player and I'm sure this would prevent many people from buying and spending their time into a world. Plain ridiculous and a real shame, bc the gfx, combat and world design is really neat.
The same happens with other similar games, like Valheim. After some specific updates that had some heavy changes and addition, they specifically said that you have to start a new world as the new things wasn't compatible with old worlds.
I don't find that really strange in games like this.
Valheim is Early Access, so oc it would be acceptable when they reset or delete worlds. This game is not.
It's easier for the devs for sure. It's surely not respecting the player's time.
jep I stopped playing bc of this crap. regret buying. absolutely nonsense.
I don't really play survival though, 99% saga so used to restarting.
Well I guess that shows how pointless what you just said is, as you stated you "really" don't play survival though. So of course you don't understand.
Imagine the developer of a drawing pad app regularly clears all the 5 scribbles (the number of drawings is already limited). People are complaining because they want to keep their stuff and can't stand a dev deleting all of their drawing playgrounds.
So now you jump in and say "in a past update the dev limited the number of colors you can use in a single painting. so why are you complaining, you wouldn't be losing much anyway"

I like what you said there. About 20 bloody years ago there was a huge move in the gaming community to push for legislation that would give gamers some rights to the intellectual product we created using these companies software that we purchased. In the courts it fell flat on it's face. It's a shame. I personally believe if we create something in a game we should be able to keep that if we want. So like in many games, 7 Days to die, Conan Exiles etc, I can keep my old worlds and play using the OLD VERSIONS of the software if I so choose. I have some 7 Days worlds that are very old that I kept after putting 1000 hours, literally, into the creation of tons of stuff.
But this game, apparently, just wipes everything like Rust does. Now in Rust and other small world PVP games, it makes sense that they wipe. Empyrion "scenarios" online also wipe, makes sense. But this game wiping every 3 months? What am I missing?
I feel fooled, bc I fell for it.
Well, well adventurer, discover what awaits you at the end of your epic Saga: we delete it. Have fun.
All they'd have to do is give people the option to update and the option to use older version of the software. Maybe they do that, I don't know
