I'd say test it out, if you don't like it you can quit any time.
You no longer have to defend your base and can explore the map at your pace.
It's now a great place to discover how the game works and to defeat every boss.
Going solo will still be a bit chalenging since some encounters are way more punishing when you get constantly attacked leaving little place to error but it's also great to focus on learning each boss patterns.
You will still get one shot if you dont prepare and since you'll have time you should upgrade your stuff and keep a set for each boss.
I almost have level 2 weapons/shields before lvl 1 armor because of the stupid rng spawns for ♥♥♥♥ you need. Wouldn't recommend unless you want a time sink
