No Selkie Flippers?

I have killed maybe close to 100 Selkies now, Ash beaches and islands trying to upgrade that tanning workbench. HAVE NOT GOT ONE, am I doing something wrong???? I've read guides online, reddit posts, YouTube videos I just can't seem to get ONE single flipper....

Some higher level ash beach-only small island with gold spawning on it. I only got them from these higher level ash beaches

I finally found an Ash Sorc and was able too I just found it absolutely bizarre that over 100 killed and all I got was leather. Not one flipper, felt unintended to me

Yes, I really wish I was kidding, but at LEAST 100 mermaid ladies and only ever got leather. Ended up just finding a Ash Sorcerer and bought like 200 lol

i found selkies at the lair entrance it was on a ash beach

I am running into the same problem. I have to wonder if it's a bug.
