Earning golden horns

Are you able to earn golden horns in survival mode or is that only a saga mode thing?

Saga mode only.

Not sure if you can get Golden Horn or the Golden Egg Rune drops in Survival mode. If they do you should be able to use the Bifrost to keep them. Sure I had a Golden Horn drop once but that was a while ago and may just have been in Solo Saga so don't quote me on that

I got a couple golden horns in Survival solo.

I think Survival is actually really good for farming, each jotun you kill gives a trophy which is exchanged for a set amount of gold horns. 1 for Jarnsaxa, 2 for Halogi, 3 for geirrodr, and finally 4 for angrboda. Alongside the ones you can have drop rarely from any enemy you kill, and possibly some from the saga bosses such as Fenrir though as I have yet to reach that point I cannot confirm.

In survival one full run of the jotuns gives you 1+2+3+4=10 golden horns. Easy to farm, just build portals next to the arenas but their respawn takes a while.

2 hours roughly from what others have said, so that's 10 horns roughly every 2 hours. Not bad, not quite as good as a dedicated team going for maximum gold horn gain, but then again that is with a full saga team ready to farm at maximum efficiency, not much can actually be expected beat that.

I've only killed two of the jotruns and have 27 Golden Horns. I have run around A LOT, killed plenty of enemies, farmed the hell out of my starting island, and completed several of the daily/Weekly missions. Not sure how I got them all.

They drop randomly from doing things, cutting tree, slaying mobs, it all has a change for a golden horn to drop but it's pretty low. Killing the jotuns gives you guaranteed golden horns because you trade their trophy at the starting point.
