Look it takes a long time for the numbers to change after 14 ok. dont give up. think of it like survival mode, fight til you drop
As it was winter non stop we did not have enough mushroom oil, I think that's what it was but now we know next time on what to try and stock up on..
I eventually got overun, so mate teleported back to base, pumped what ever remaining souls we had to the tree and bolted to the bifrost lol...
There was a main mission though to build a bridge and when we found it(I think we did), the materials it wanted was like 50 cut stone and what not..
So as the days get harder, nights get longer, enemies get stronger..
How can two people possibly explore the whole map(get all fast travels for a new hero), upgrade our walls, arch towers, townsfolk, repair fountain, repair gear while trying to harvest, take on 3-4 jotuns and build a bridge in forever winter night??
And yes we had the quarry, farm and lumber yard built early on as well..
As most reviews are saying the devs sold us an incorrect game to what we were initially told...
Like overall it is a fun and challenging game but as I said, how can two people do all that?
It gets annoying at how bs it can be, not rewarding and you don't want to play the game. The season rewards is what will make me play the game but with all that BS with 2 player co-op, might give up sooner rather than later but reat assured, haven't given up yet.
Now we know what to expect at day 14 so from now on, will make sure we have enough of the ice protection but it only lasts 4 minutes unless we get the next tier up?...
I feel the devs need to adjust and make the day/night cycle slower for 2 people, the map smaller or something so it feels do-able while still being challenging.
I just feel the balance is not right at times or at the moment and yes the game just came out so I hope they can maybe balance the game a bit.
two people should be easy.
I just finished a solo run and was able to do all that. Killed the saga boss on day 12. gathered some souls on day 13 to prepare for the long nights. finished upgrading all my defenses to T3. most of my villagers were only T4. didnt really need anything past that, since enemies never got into the base.
made sure giant was dead around day 13 as well.
You're both wrong.
It's not "easy" because the average player cannot jump in and just automatically succeed at what you're describing.
It's not even medium difficulty, this would be a task that someone should be able to complete regularly.
What you're describing is nothing less than a Difficult Feat.
And I actually know this for a fact because the devs confirmed this game was created with the intention of having 4 players as a minimum in order to be able to win, and thats 4 players that likely have achievements and legendaries, to be able to consistantly defeat Fenrir on a casual basis.
This wasnt intended for solo or two players to be able to do everything there is to do and win. This was intended to be a 4 player team game.
You don't -have- to beat X Y Z. Its a survival game to see how far you can get, die, then start over. It can be solo'd, sure, people have done it, but the bugs they used are patched and most of them used hacks. But i'm sure someone somewhere solo'd without any glitch bug exploit hack or cheat, but that is definitely not meant to be considered "easy".
Cheers, I will keep this in mind when trying again, we will try and get the jotuns early on as that may make it do-able :)
Our arch towers were level 3, our villagers level 5 but our walls were only level 1
I think solo may be do-able as the health on the jotun is not so much and the day/night cycle is slower, but as I just responded to the other dude, may need to try and take on the jotuns when they first appear
Cheers
Im flattered you thjink im not an average player. But in reality this was only my 4th solo run. Each run i improved. Solo is possible. You just need to be able to be consistant on what needs done when.
Im not saying a new player can jump in and get it done on their first run. Im saying that with practice a player CAN do aklk that. And be able to do it consistantly.
Yes, even on the store page it says more people the more fun and they recommend 4-5 or more...
It is not about being easy but some what do-able as the scaling seems inconsistent I feel when playing with a few people and in this day and age, people have wives, children, work commitments in which most of us are working from home, so we work more and game less I feel in which most people do not have all the time in the world to play thousands of hours on end. Yes I do have 4.5k hours in cs go but the game has been out since Aug 2012 and it does not even equal to a month each year of cs go...
The store says solo or up to 10 players, so that in mind, sometimes we do not have have many people on our friends list that want to play a particular game like this, so we can only manage to get 1 or 2 others, then what is the point of buying the game then if it wasn't intended for 2 or 3 players when it says solo or up to 10??
As I said, I already know about how many players the devs recommended but it should be tailored to 2 or 3 other players and all the way up to 10 and not the "recommendation of 4-5 or more....
I don't want it to be easy and win every time because that would be boring and no point to it also but as I said, the scaling seems off with 2 people imo and was just surprised at Day 14 but now I know so I thank yourself and the others that have responded.
We will now change our game plan and prepare for day 14 in another way as we know what expect from now on and when we do pass, we will be jumping with joy unless we rip our eyes out first :P lol...
