Black Vikings?

Why are there so many options for characters and portraits that are obviously not Nordic in even a slight way? I understand having the ability to customize your character but for a game about Nordic vikings this seems more like I'm fighting for Wakanda.

If I made a game about Africa and African culture and mythology, but I made all the characters white with blue eyes and blond hair that's not exactly following the proper mythology and culture. History, culture and in this case mythology, is about blood and soil, not just telling some fantasy story. You want an example of a game taking these concepts and playing them out in a really good way play Skyrim. Look at the dynamic between the Nords and the Imperials while still making it a fantasy RPG.

Preset defaulting 6/11 being black, the majority, as well as female majority?

Not realistic, don't frame games in a culture, if it's not legit, would be like a african based game being over 50% white, china/japan based game being 50% hispanic, and so on and so forth.
