Black Vikings?

Why are there so many options for characters and portraits that are obviously not Nordic in even a slight way? I understand having the ability to customize your character but for a game about Nordic vikings this seems more like I'm fighting for Wakanda.

if you ask any historical professor or teacher, they'll confirm that there were no historical accounts of a black viking. however, this is a game, it's not restricted to historical events and rules from our world, otherwise there wouldn't be any magic or monsters.
while it's certainly unique, there is no point in talking about it as much as it's happening in this thread.

This thread is too long to bother reading all of the posts. Keep in mind we're not humans, we're Einherjar, and the Valkyries chose us from the fields of battle. That means anyone from anywhere could be taken to Valhalla or Folkvangr if they died in glorious battle.

Oh dear! I’m not a white person but I can’t accept non-white Vikings, due to the fact that there aren’t any credible sources of evidence for such. This game is being advertised as playing Vikings in Midgard, after all.

Just take the L. We're playing ghosts picked out by Valkyries from people dead on battlefields, which could be from absolutely anywhere, and aren't even specifically said to have to be formerly human (though the game depicts us as such). We're not Scandanavians in this game, though the townspeople (NPCs) may be.

Considering the game is literally about warriors being plucked from Valhala to defend Midgard it doesn't matter what race they are. if we take the games premise that the norse pantheon is the actual pantheon, it would mean that all warriors who died honorably in battle could meet in the halls to train for the final battle.

The game is not about vikings raiding around scandinavia...

Yeah it is silly but then again this game is not about lore or any actual story, its a grindy wave based tower defense game with up to 10 players that once you lose will just restart over and over again. Its not something worth reacting to, allot of people here in this post needs to chill and agree that this is not a serious historical game about vikings and leave it at that instead of fighting over nothing.

The Einherjar, as far as I know, came from Valhalla, and, as far as I know, only Vikings who died in battle are brought to Valhalla by valkyries. There were no black or oriental Vikings, as far as I know.
