Is this game still being updated?
Just wondering if it's still getting content updates or the devs have moved on to another project?

Yes, maybe, who knows? ;)

The devs are making a new project, but they haven't announced what yet.

Was hoping for a DoM2 but never mind! :steamsad:

Huh, not the sort of thing I was expecting.

Shocker. I genuinely can't imagine a more different target audience.

One response to this post was wondering why people kept asking this question. Now, granted people should review a discussion board before posting to avoid duplication of content, but I think the reason people keep asking the question is because the game leaves a lot of room for exploration that we fans wish Madruga Works would allow us to experience.

After a long time away from the game, I played it again and built a wonderful settlement. I've plateaued at around 320 villagers. I don't lose anybody to raids. My workload peaks at 80% during spring & fall harvests. I have 2 cairns, 2 stonehenges, numerous other spiritual buildings, warehouses and granaries bulging with goods. What more can I do?

If you read this forum, you'll find many great ideas for new features. No doubt Madruga Works has good reason not to develop more content for this game, but we can't stop wishing, right?

What if Madruga Works set up a crowdfund for Dawn of Man 2? I'd pledge 20 USD or more for a major update to this game which includes spinoff settlements, parlays with barbarians, specialized villagers, etc.

Maybe they're just not interested in it any more. I'd rather them not bother if their hearts are not in it.

Pretty much my thoughts on it, too. But it would be a crying shame.

DoM has apparently sold in excess of 293,000 copies and is ranked in the top 1% (of all 90k+ Steam games) for lifetime gross revenue. It is likewise ranked in the top 1% of all games for positive reviews. Not bad at all for a tiny Indie company with just their second offering.

A DoM 2 is surely too good an opportunity to pass up...? We can but hope. :)

On the other hand, many people are suck into games that are kept up-to-date because they have an excessive number of paid DLCs. Not sure what their hearts are in for.

No... the game has completed development.

No it's not the game still plagued by a lot of bugs, one of them is that the rally point system at the gates doesn't work.

First what's the point of having it if you can't assign it farther than 5 feet from the gate? I guess it's useful to have my villagers gather outside the gate during raids instead of huddling inside as the raiders destroy my farms, but no that doesn't work either. In fact it doesn't do anything whether you set the rally point somewhere or not. The villagers still gather in the same place.

In this game it's actually better not to build walls, that way your villagers will meet the raiders head on in all their number, instead of all the fighters hiding behind the wall and watching the raiders destroy everything, and if you send them out they only go out in small groups at a time, which means in the late game you can lose 50 people through no fault of your own, so please don't tell me it's completed when you're encouraged NOT TO BUILD WALLS ONE OF THE CORE FEATURES OF THE GAME

The rally point system does work for me.

It's there to allow you to decide if you want to fight in front of the gate, or behind it. Depending on your enemy settings and weapon/armor situation you might want to change that.

It definitely does work for me as the villager will gather exactly where I place the gathering points. The dogs do too. Though if you change the point you have to retrigger the alarm.
If that is not happening for you, you found a bug and I would suggest reporting it in the bug forum.

As for me, I find walls and towers useful as it split the ranged fire of the raiders off from my melee warriors into the towers. I always use them and never really had a big issue with them. Though I also don't really play on the harder settings.

I also never had raiders destroy my farms, even though I placed them in front of the walls, though I would suggest you reporting that in the bug forum.

I've had no such issues. I never changed the rally point. And yea villagers will stand behind the wall on those platforms I made them build. And yea some towers and maybe one or two pieces of wall will be destroyed. But even at endgame I rarely lose more than 20 villagers out of 200+. The biggest loss is the towers and gate that get destroyed, but by that point I have enough resources to easily rebuild them.

All I have to do is sound the alarm as soon as a raid is happening, and there will only be minor losses.
