After a long time away from the game, I played it again and built a wonderful settlement. I've plateaued at around 320 villagers. I don't lose anybody to raids. My workload peaks at 80% during spring & fall harvests. I have 2 cairns, 2 stonehenges, numerous other spiritual buildings, warehouses and granaries bulging with goods. What more can I do?
If you read this forum, you'll find many great ideas for new features. No doubt Madruga Works has good reason not to develop more content for this game, but we can't stop wishing, right?
What if Madruga Works set up a crowdfund for Dawn of Man 2? I'd pledge 20 USD or more for a major update to this game which includes spinoff settlements, parlays with barbarians, specialized villagers, etc.
Pretty much my thoughts on it, too. But it would be a crying shame.
DoM has apparently sold in excess of 293,000 copies and is ranked in the top 1% (of all 90k+ Steam games) for lifetime gross revenue. It is likewise ranked in the top 1% of all games for positive reviews. Not bad at all for a tiny Indie company with just their second offering.
A DoM 2 is surely too good an opportunity to pass up...? We can but hope. :)
Just bought and fell in love with the game. Am hoping for the same in the future
The rally point system does work for me.
It's there to allow you to decide if you want to fight in front of the gate, or behind it. Depending on your enemy settings and weapon/armor situation you might want to change that.
It definitely does work for me as the villager will gather exactly where I place the gathering points. The dogs do too. Though if you change the point you have to retrigger the alarm.
If that is not happening for you, you found a bug and I would suggest reporting it in the bug forum.
As for me, I find walls and towers useful as it split the ranged fire of the raiders off from my melee warriors into the towers. I always use them and never really had a big issue with them. Though I also don't really play on the harder settings.
I also never had raiders destroy my farms, even though I placed them in front of the walls, though I would suggest you reporting that in the bug forum.
I've had no such issues. I never changed the rally point. And yea villagers will stand behind the wall on those platforms I made them build. And yea some towers and maybe one or two pieces of wall will be destroyed. But even at endgame I rarely lose more than 20 villagers out of 200+. The biggest loss is the towers and gate that get destroyed, but by that point I have enough resources to easily rebuild them.
All I have to do is sound the alarm as soon as a raid is happening, and there will only be minor losses.
