Uncollected resources
I'm having major issues with resources not being collected. meat, skins, grains etc are being harvested but left on the ground to rot. It's frustrating when you send out a hunting party and you have 30-40 meat in the middle of winter that disappears leaving people to starve. I've tried altering the work loads and even at 40% workload resources are not being collected. I have also made sure there is storage room and that limits are high enough to warrant the resources being collected. This is happening in multiple games. I've had 6 different games have this issue.

Any ideas?

I know how you feel. The collector AI is horrible AND you neither have a command to just collect nor you can set the priority to high.
But you can send your men manually to collect . Just pick one and click on the hide for.eample.
He will now interrupt his actual task and walk to the hide and pick it up. Now it gets tricky: You have to be aware when he pick this stuff up and click to another loot. Repeat until he has no more storage room. Sadly you cant do this with sledges as extra storage.
Another strategy for faster looting could be to not skin your prey. Send your hunters back manually. Eventually another one will take on this task. If you have a free sledge, he will now take it and will carry way more stuff. Its risky, because maybe they dont want to take one this task.

I do not recomend this as it is very likely you lose everything due to animal corpse decay.

There are only 2 options here to work with current mechanics. Either account that problem in the way you hunt or collect loot manually.

You can manually order:
- people who come for loot to pick up more items;
- people with full inventories to run back instead of walking;
- people at the camp with empty inventories to run to where loot is and pick it up;

And for the first 'idea' - don`t hunt with most of your population and don`t hunt for more than you can carry. Try to manually assign adult hunters with knives to corpses with 3-5 resources only. Leave 'big' corpses for butchers with sledges, or even better - manually reassign those.

I'm finding it really frustrating that my harvests aren't being fully collected.
I'm finding even trying the manual selection of the crop/straw/meat/skin is sometimes being overridden by the game! I kept micro managing this 1 character who would go to pick up the item...then leave the item and go off to do another task, even when I cancelled the task in the Task Manager Window.
I find this micro-management is really annoying.
It would be better if you could "Select All" the item by "Double Clicking" then "Right Click" or "SHIFT+Right Click" an Individual to have them complete the task.
Any Ideas? Comments? Improvements?

I always try to rush to goats as quick as possible simply because hunting is so crazily inefficient. So many mammoths killed where I get almost nothing but bones from them. I don't even bother hunting over a mountain or more than a "screen and a half" from my town. Wasted effort.

This happens to me every game, but seems to balance itself out over time. Usually around higher pops (100-150?) I notice resources being picked up faster. Children do most of the menial tasks including collecting resources. Reducing workload early on does seem to help though. It's annoying when my people don't pick up straw and grain, then my animals starve to death.
