any way to optimize the game more?

maybe someone made a mod for it. or an unofficial patch. i cant even 2x raids anymore. the game slows down to 1 fps.

Never had this issue. Highly likely it's your rig and something wrong with it. Either lacking hardware or something else. The game is not at fault however.

5800x with a 3080 and m.2 storage. Hardware certainly aint lacking. Ive simply reached a point where the game cant handle the pop any more. Since the devs quit, they wont optimize the game any more. Maybe someone made mods for the game, but i cant find any on the nexus.

This definitely isn't normal, I've never heard of anyone else having this problem and I could run DoM on my old potato without issue, so it's not the game that's the problem. Have you checked you're running the game on the intended graphics card? Is your antivirus slowing it down? Are you running anything else in the background? Are you sure your computer isn't damaged (faulty fan etc.)?

Yes. I play on a custom map. Starting to reach the 400 pop. Which delivers between 50/60 fps normally. But with every raid, i need to 1x the speed. That will dip framerate to 40 fps. Whenever i do 2x, its an instant 1fps drop.

My guess would be that the game isnt optimized for bigger pops than 200. So i was kinda hoping to find a mod that optimizes the game.

How big is the raider party?

I have no problem with smaller raider party (less than 30) at pop more than 400. The only problem that I have is stuttering during Spring planting. It will return to normal (2x) after most of the field are plowed. Also, I'm using smaller map size for my mod (map size 3 rather than vanilla 4). It's better for high pop with old my system.
