My goats did not breed well. in fact all of my goats and sheep died. It's donkeys that won't stop getting freaky.

Set a limit with F4.
Then your goat numbers will automatically be reduced.
For a healty population you need around 15-20.
My goats once died out at 10.

You can't sell animals, because they don't get stored.
You can only sell things that are currently in your storage.

the +1 means its a suggestion. we know we can't do it, we SHOULD be able to do it though. makes sense. any downsides?

Mh, only that it's probably very easy to get a ton of money, as animals are currently very valuable and they reproduce for free.
The trader would basically be degraded to a free gift every time he comes around.
There are people who got over 200 goats and with that kind of population and births you can buy everything.

Animals are already a super easy way to make money. Just sell the wool generated by your obnoxiously large herd of sheep.

I bought two from the trader and they multiplied like rabbits.

Look for mouflons to get sheep and for ibexes to get goats.
Those are the names for the animals before domestication.
Try to look around at the beginning of spring, that's when all the new herd will spawn in with a couple of young ones.
+1 we absolutely need the ability to sell animals just like we can buy them.

And what should the price be?

It's currently 50 for a small animal, and 100 for a large one.
That means you can buy out a trader with ease.

If you lower the prices, the taming system becomes superfluous.

Also, how do you decide which animal to sell? Male? Female? Old? Young?

If you want to decide that, that would mean a lot of changes to the traiding system.

The problem is an extra animal has 0 value to you, whereas if you have 0 animals it's extremely valuable.

+1 to your +1

Agree that it would cause more problems for balance than it is worth.

Alsp don't understand the problem.
The whole point of livestock is to have a population so big that you can get what you need from the ammount they breed each year, and having a buffer for bad times.

If you get more off of them than you need, just have less of them.

If you have em for money, to buy stuff of traders you can't make, sell the leather, meat, wool cloth or whatever.
